Joe Vitt: I値l forgive, but I値l never forget what the NFL imposed on us

APThe NFL reinstated Sean Payton as head coach of the Saints today, which means Joe Vitt can officially move aside from his role as interim head coach and give the job back to Payton.

But Vitt can稚 completely move on: In comments to the New Orleans Times-Picayune shortly after Payton was reinstated, Vitt said he値l never forget, and he strongly suggested that he believes the NFL wronged him, Payton and the Saints.

鏑isten man, it痴 going to be kind of emotional, Vitt said at the Senior Bowl. 滴e is my friend. . . . Will I forgive? Yeah, I guess I will forgive. But I will never forget what we致e gone through and what this team has gone through with the sanctions and the penalties they致e imposed upon us.

Vitt痴 comments indicate that he believes the penalties the NFL imposed on the Saints were unfair. But if Payton does, as he said in his statement today, 鍍ake full responsibility for the Saints bounty program, then what was unfair about suspending him for the season? Vitt doesn稚 say.

It痴 obvious that the players and coaches on the Saints will never be on the same page as NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell about the handling of the bounty program. And even as they say they池e moving on, they池e never going to forget that they think they were wronged.

I would forgive if someone would admit to making some serious errors instead of acting like they are immune to making mistakes period. That's what bothers me more than anything else.

Those comments from Vitt pretty much insures we won't get our 2nd round pick back...

We all know Roger doesn't handle criticism well

It was never assured we would get to the Superbowl in our own house. The problem is Goddell took any chance of that actually happening away. And for that we will NEVER forget.
