Manti Te'o

Well Manti Te'o could possibly drop down to us now in the midst of all his scandal. I feel, after all of this, he'll feel like he has something to prove.

Fake or not, that guy puts his heart on the line on the football field. I couldn't care less what they do off the field, as long as it doesn't keep them from starting games on Sundays. And yes, I know he was non-existent in the championship game, but it's not like he had any help. They were completely out-matched.

How does everyone feel about this guy now?

Re: Manti Te'o

Manti Te' No! Nothin' to do with imaginary girlfriends. Most of us have had one or two of those. "Bama exposed him as a LB totally dependent on his DL to break him free to make plays. We can depend on our DL to help give up more yards than any other team in history

Re: Manti Te'o

You couldn't care less what they do off the field?

You will when it affects the locker room...

Look, the kid's ability is evident but he's destined to be a back up or starter of a very weak LB corps.

Re: Manti Te'o

I don't think he'll drop that far in the draft.
Besides I don't want to tarde up to get him.
Get the best player available and use the **** out of FA

Re: Manti Te'o

He's a solid tackler, with pretty decent instincts... But he is physically slow in reacting to plays that aren't right in front of him. He doesn't have very good speed, and when I watched him I noticed his lateral movement was very unimpressive. He's just kinda stiff. Good college player because he tracks the ball well with his eyes and is a good tackler when he is able to get there, but I think he's too slow for the NFL. At least in terms of being a starter.

I've stopped careing. I don't care anymore.

I say pass if he is around our pick there will be someone one is better at a different position. Or even better than his position, I'm not sold on this guy at all, even before this hype with a scandal

Re: Manti Te'o

I didn't see many ND games but he did not impress me in the BCS. Maybe it was just one bad game but he sure picked the wrong time to have it.

Honestly, I think he's gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Imaginary girlfriends are for gay guys.

Beyond that, he's just not "attractive" as a linebacker.

Re: Manti Te'o

I saw him a few times throughout the year and honestly wondered what all of the hype was about. If Notre Dame had lost a game or two during the regular season I'm not sure any of us would know who he was. That team needed a media face and that is what he became, although his lack of common sense is a little troubling.

I'm sorry. He got owned by Alabama. Pass.

That's what I was thinking ... that the whole 'girlfriend' thing was just a cover,.

As a linebacker, I think he has 'Brian Bosworth' potential ... a lot of potential/hype coming out of college, but an NFL bust.

I agree. Wasn't overly impressed. If he is BPA then fine but otherwise, pass.

Re: Manti Te'o

He will drop into the 20's. I wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot poll and it has nothing to do with his fake girlfriend and everything to do with how soft he looked against Bama. The guy never impressed before the Bama game.

Since Werner will be gone I want Dion Jordan!

DION, DION DION DION DION!!!

Fake girlfriend on the internet? If he came to New Orleans he'd be dating a cross dresser from Decatur street!

Alabama game told you about Manti'teo.

I think it be a big mistake for anyone to take him IMO.

If he can't tell a fake girlfriend after a few months, what makes anyone think his inability to recognize a play fake will improve?

I truly don't think our locker room is shakeable because of a guy's off the field problems. And let's be real, it's not like he's smoking dope and getting DUI's. The guy had a fake girlfriend.

If he knew about it, is that a character flaw? Sure. But the guy seems to be sincere and passionate about the game of football. That being said, I wouldn't take him before the 3rd round. I just wanted to see what everyone thought about him after the championship game/scandal. Case closed.

Pass...entirely too much bull**** surrounding him. He is a liar...and a bad one at that. Payton wont bite on this one

Re: Manti Te'o

Didn't watch him except in the National Champ where he kept bouncing off of the Alabama RB's instead of tackling. Wasn't impressed from that (one) game. The whole fake girlfriend thing is a WTF.

saintsfan403 01-25-2013 12:18 PM

Re: Manti Te'o

the fake gf thing is a overhyped garbage, let katey couric dwell on that...
as for his on field performance, he sucked out loud in that Alabama game. I wouldn't take him in the first round and the Saints don't need him. We need an elite pass rusher for the new defence.

Re: Manti Te'o

He's either really...really gullible or a liar

but with that aside regarding his ability...its all hype. Don't fall into the trap. Yes he was praised because they won all the games during the reg season but who did they really play? Won against Pitt by the grace of a blown call at the one yd line. Alabama blew these guys out of the water. Him & the rest of his D had no business on the field with any SEC team let alone Bama.

He's not what the media is portaying him to be. He'll be a decent LB at best IMO.

I think he will be PS or 3rd string at best.

I have no idea what to make of this story.
True? False?
We are so jaded that we take all stories as questionable until there is proof.
Seems true.
Still?
