New Orleans Saints punter Thomas Morstead enjoying 'surreal' moments at Pro Bowl
Only one punter from each NFL conference attends the Pro Bowl every season. And it's not that New Orleans Saints punter Thomas Morstead isn't confident he'll become more than a one-time Pro Bowler.
He's also enjoying the experience with his parents, his soon-to-be in-laws, Saints long snapper Justin Drescher and Ben Martinez, who handles all of the special teams equipment duties for the Saints.
Morstead said he owed it to Drescher to pay for a trip to Hawaii considering how much the Saints long snapper helped him earn the Pro Bowl bid. Drescher won't be snapping for Morstead in Sunday's game. Morstead said all Drescher was doing was "having beers on the beach" on Tuesday via Twitter.
The Saints punter told Martinez at the beginning of the season that if he made the Pro Bowl that Martinez would be coming with him because of all the hard work by Martinez throughout the year. Morstead lived up to his promise.
