The Senior Bowl

Anyone watching the game?

Ansah, Alford, and Rambo are 3 names that have kept my attention

EDIT: Ansah would be an amazing 3-4 OLB I think

Ansah is my pick at #15. Or CJ Mosely. Or one badass NT.

For the record, I wanted Clay Matthews and JJ Watt.

Isn't CJ staying in school one more year?

Just from watching the first half of the game, I want Ansah at #15... Not sure if he would be strong enough to play DE in a 3-4, but he did run down Denard Robinson from across the field; so he has the speed for OLB...

Ansah has just moved himself into the top 10 IMO. The Saints really need to be looking at Kawaan Short at 15 as a 3-4 DE, Im very impressed.

just reading about it, how did that corner from UConn do? I just read something about him being a good move to safety?

Re: The Senior Bowl

I think Ansah has definitely earned himself a larger paycheck and will be in the top 10 or 12. He won't fall to us at #15 anymore. He absolutely dominated all week in Mobile and dominated everyone during the game.

I can see our base three being Cam Jordan, Bunkley and Hicks. LBers being Lofton and Hawthorne in the middle with Junior and Martez on the outside. But I can see us drafting Dion Jordan now as he's the perfect stand up outside 3-4 OLB.

That being said, with Ansah moving up, that means someone has to drop a little farther. Jarvis Jones is already being rumored to drop, could be fall to us at #15? Or Dee Milliner? Lane Johnson had a great week in Mobile and may crack the top 15 as an OT, so maybe more than one player slides to us? We have a few holes on the defense and with the switch, there are plenty of options. My gut says we take Dion Jordan due to the switch, but we'll see in a couple months!

It's always great going to the game so I can get a feel for the players. I missed it this year. Rugby comes first.

What is his profile? Is a two-gap 3-4 nose tackle. Because that is what we need now

watch the stream and yes Short is big boy without carrying all the flab. he is very quick. IMO he can play the 34 with no problem though man draft reviews have him as a DT.

In a 4-3 he is a DT, but in a 3-4 he's a DE. If Ansah is gone I'd take Short. Sign Connor Barwin, pick Aurthur Brown in the 3rd and we are in business. IMO Akiem Hicks is the future NT on this team. I dont think this team is in need of a NT as most people here, maybe a veteran free agent for a year is all that's needed.

Re: The Senior Bowl

Cam and Short as DE with hicks rotating in at DE and NT

the reason is i am having dreams of Short and Hicks playing DE for us. either way i think we will need to depth to 34 DE position. have Hicks slide to NT on passing downs?

i am wondering how good Cam could be as olb? not sure how much i am kidding here.

ok nt is still an issue and i look to the early mid rounds of the draft to address it.

Brandon Williams, NT, Missouri Southern - saints would have do some moves to land him after the senior bowl performance. oh my god am i falling for hype here or what? i would not spend anything higher than a 4th here i think. 3rd? might be too high, then again i said that about Hicks last year and so far i am eating crow with a smile on my face

but to pass on my boy Desmond Trufant, CB, Washington who should go in round 1 now would be hard to do. trade down a bit, take him and get a pick would be sweet. i always thought the second round rating he got was tooo freaking low.

ok i need coffee some talk sense to me here

Lots of defensive promise in the senior bowl. I'm sure Coach Payton was taking notes.
