Euph has a point and we did with Gregg Williams..... the year we hired him we won the Super Bowl.

Spags ended up being an abortion. This team would been a LOT better at defense had we hired Jack Del Rio, but hind-sight is 20/20 and Del Rio just came from a poor head coaching job in Jacksonville (with lack of GM and owner support in his defense).

I still think the heart of the 49ers defense is that d-line and Tomsula has remained on the d-line thru 3 separate head coaches for a reason. But I see both points.

I was hoping to get Del Rio over Spags. We at least wouldve made the playoffs.

Impossible to know... Denver has a lot more talent on their defensive unit than the Saints do, so we don't know what even Del Rio could've gotten out of this Saints' roster under the given difficult circumstances.

True, but I'm betting that we wouldve had a better defense w Del Rio that wouldve won us at least 2 maybe 3 more games, which I think wouldve put us in the playoffs. Spags D was botom of the barrell.

I hoping Crenell or Tomsula...preferably Tomsula. I think the "patience" part is waiting for the SB to be over so they can start working something.
