Drew Brees blasts Gregg Williams
 

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees sat down with NFL AM this morning and blasted former defensive coordinator Gregg Williams.

“He sounds like a madman,” Brees said, per NFL.com.” He sounds reckless, careless. Even that rhetoric doesn’t belong in the game.”

Brees also stated that everything that’s said in a locker room can’t be taken literally.

“There’s a lot of things that come out of people’s mouths in the locker room, and on game day and in the heat of the moment. This year, even as I watched games, I heard plenty of stuff — let’s go knock these dudes out, let’s go do this, do that. If you take it for face value and take it out of context, there’d be a lot of fines and suspensions getting thrown out.

“My point is, you’ve got to be able to separate rhetoric from intent. Can you measure intent? Can you say the New Orleans Saints or anybody else went out with the intent to seriously hurt somebody? No, I don’t think you can. You can take an audio tape, you can take a microphone off the field and read into it all you want. But there’s certain things about this game — I don’t know if you’re ever going to eliminate guys talking crazy when they’re all hyped up, ready to go hit somebody.”

Brees still won’t back down from his criticism of NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

“I wouldn’t back off of that because I know that that’s true,” Brees said. “I know that there are a lot of guys that look at some of the things the commissioner has done, the way that he’s acted, and what seems to be at times maybe a knee-jerk reaction or perhaps maybe his intentions were a little different than what is kind of claimed to be. That’s something that obviously we hope can change. We hope can get better.

“But I think the way the bounty allegations were handled, I thought was horrendous.”

Brees is an NFL money maker. He is one of their fav boys as far as bringing viewers, revenue when he and Saints play night games. He has a place there in NFL after his career days as in HofF. I can see that happening for him. .
He is in a sweet, cushiony position with NFL, media, and Saints ' fans too.
Brees won't shut up when asked about this . No matter how many times it seems, he just wont' shut up.
And I LIKE that.:p

No fear of Goodell from him.:p

Brees may care about his image, but when the chips are down he is about winning and this team and he will not back down.

Drew is being careful, but he's still calling it like HE sees it, which as we know is the accurate position. I applaud him for it. He's not simply re-hasing rhetoric. Notice he didn't just come out and say Roger is full of crap, but that's what he's saying if you read between the lines:

We all are gonna remember and when the day day comes that Roger is shown the door the truth will come out. Our season was ruined and all that will be said is well thats too bad. Not sure we could have made it but at least we would have had a fair chance like everyone else. I really hope that Roger knows when he leaves here that he really is not welcome here anymore.

Oh you best believe we wont forget. And though it will probably be after he either is done as commish or if the NFL starts getting exposed when these lawsuits go to trial....there will be a 30 for 30 documentary exposing just how far they really went to scapegoat the Saints....ESPN wouldn't dare pick up a filmaker's take on this while he's still in power tho...he'd have his flunkies shut it down.

We all thought they would be pissed this year and look what happened...pfft, ill wait till after week 1 of next year is over before i get excited..to much was built up last year
