Re: Aqib Talib

i think Payton could handle his character issues. might not be bad, there will be a slew of free agents out there, we just need to clear some cap room.

I don't know about him. He is a good player, no doubt about that but he has way to much rouble foolwing him around.

Re: Aqib Talib

I'm not promising that Talib's issues are behind him, but I do know his impact on the Pats secondary. That playoff game was over the minute he left due to injury. We all in Boston knew it.

I'm kinda doubting an admittedly renegade HC fresh from a year long suspension would be the salvaging influence for Talib's past transgressions. Look at the top for character issues before proclaiming anyone the righteous one. Belichick has taken his spanking also.

Locker room? Talib would be one the leaders on D in NO by default, due to experience and pure talent. The Pats probably have a stronger locker room, yet I've never heard a bad word about Talib up here. Talib himself has to decide if he's ready to mature and be a professional. He himself has to prove that his staying out of trouble wasn't simply due to his contract coming up.

That said....I seriously doubt the Pats let him go, even if they have to diss Welker due to cap constraints. Hell I figure if he's good enough for BB, then he's good enough for the Saints.

Imitating my game is the most sincere form of flattery.

agreed he is an impact player for sure. off the field issues? who knows but in boston he seemed to have a different out look.

Re: Aqib Talib

Well the Pats are also rumored to be sniffin around Ed Reed, so the secondary seems to be a priority during the twilight of the Brady/BB era. The #1 O can survive the departing of Welker IMO. We'll see.

BTW: hella blizzard on the way up here.

A slot receiver should be next to kicker on priority needs for the Saints this off season.

And he may come cheap, what with having more issues than my father-in-law's Playboy collection and all...
