I don't see a Franchise Tag on that list. Transition on a couple of guys... maybe.

I don't think the Saints can afford to franchise anyone. Along with upgrading the defense, whatever cap space the Saints can free up between now and next offseason will likely be used on locking up Graham. Can't see us slapping the tag on somebody like Bushrod just to over pay him for one season.

They'll either sign him long term (which I don't expect) or they'll let him go. No one else on that list is close to being worth the FT.

Transition tag for Ivory is a possibility, I suppose.

That low safety tag is why you won't see any of the upper tier safeties available in free-agency. They will all re-sign or be tagged.

It also illustrates the importance of the front end and CB's compared to safeties.

Not one name on that list is worthy of the franchise tag. Not one person.
In fact we don't need to be holding onto players. I believe that we need to jettison a large number of our under performing players. Gone. Gone. Gone.
Smith, Vilma,(who I love but doesn't fit the 3-4) Ellis, both of the Patricks, Harper, Jenkins, Bushrod, Shanle and well you get the idea.......
