Chatting it up with reporters last week before his Baltimore Ravens went on to win Super Bowl 2013, Destrehan native Ed Reed made New Orleans fans across the region smile when he discussed his affinity for the area.

Those collective smiles may have grown even wider when Reed, an eight-time All-Pro free safety, said he was a childhood fan of the Saints and that, "I'm black and gold forever."

Isn't he still under contract with the Ravens? Even if he's not I just don't know if Reed will ever be a Saint....although the thought alone is fantastic.

He's a UFA but with Lewis retiring and them likely having to let Carey Williams and Paul Kruger leave I think they need a guy like Reed to keep the leadership role on that defense.
