Defensive Targets ...

Being that we more than held our own with SP gone ( 3rd Offensively ) I do think we should have a concentrated effort on defense.
I think we should consider these players

D.R.C : Physical , Fast , Run Stopping & Hard Hitting. He tackles better than our LB's to be squarely honest and , I have never seen him get totally burned. It's getting semi late in his career and I know he wants to take one all the way.

Paul Kruger : Dude is a Monster , Nightmare on Bourbon Street ? He was consistently in the backfield in the SB often knocking the piss out of someone.

Brent Grimes : Atlanta did him wrong refused a long term , tagged him , got hurt and now he's on the open market. Prior to this season , he was a very good Corner. Lofton can shed some light on making the transition.

Richard Seymore : 33 Years old , Proven , Has been playing forever with a team that will go absolutely nowhere.

No Grimes.

Only one on that list that caught my eye was Kruger and we simply don't have the cap space... No to the rest of 'em

Grimes tore his Achilles last year.

If he is healthy, Grimes is good. And I want Osi Umenyiora. Dude didn't play all that much last year and still got 6 sacks. I want Osi.

I like Kruger too but is he really that productive without players like Haloti Ngata, Upshaw, Uncle Ray Ray and T Sizzle (Suggs) on that defensive front? Those type of players will elevate just about anyone's game.

Just a thought.

Where you getting the money to sign osi, plus he is a diva.... Give me the Baltimore boys, Kruger and reed..... And Dashon golson.... Also grimes I think would make a great saint right now off injury......

Ryan will likely be our biggest "get" of this offseason.

I'm still holding hope for Anthony SPencer.

If we don't know where we're going to get the money to sign Osi....where do you think we're going to get the money to sign Kruger, Reed or Golson?

Re: Defensive Targets ...

And Kruger isn't really an every down player. He's a phenomenal guy in rotation, but there are situations he comes out of the game. He won't get you 65 snaps a game. But I would still want him if we had the dough.

We need to be realistic in our FA expectations though. We will be getting alot of cheap veterans and young guys who flashed something but never expanded on that. I'll have to do some research to come up with names, but I don't expect anything exciting in signings.

How about Nick Barnett from the Bills?

Re: Defensive Targets ...

We need a playmaker regardless of his position. Here are the guys I would be looking at
DL -Randy Starks (he can play the end or the nose)
DL -Richard Seymour (old vet who may want a final SB run)

LB -Paul Kruger (Pass Rush Specialist)
LB -Anthony Spencer (had his best year under Ryan double digit sacks)

CB -Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (great size, speedy and solid tackler)
S -Louis Delmas (really solid guy but coming off injury)
Of course I'd love to have Ed Reed but I don't see that happening. Unless Ed just wants to retire in Black & Gold. I also think we need a bigger inside LB to team with Lofton but i don't know who would be a good fit. I think if we can hit on a few of these we will field a formidable unit next season. Loomis will land at least one big splash. He always does!

I'd be happy with all 4 of these moves. I know Grimes still has the Falcon stench on him but after a couple of OTA's in the black & Gold he shoud be fully de-contaminated.
