Two names from CBS Sports Mock

Ezekiel Ansah
HT. 6-5
WT. 274
BYU
2012 STATS 62 TKLS 13 TFL 4.5 SCKS

STRENGTHS: Rare combination of size, athleticism and natural power. Has a long, well-distributed frame with room for additional muscle mass without a significant loss of quickness. Flashes an explosive initial punch to the offensive lineman to gain space.

Possesses rare balance that allows him to maintain his feet despite taking long-strides that gobble up space between he and the quarterback with surprising speed. Balance and surprising lateral agility is also evident in changing directions. Has good -- not great -- strength but very good natural explosiveness to bull rush his opponent into the pocket.

Slips off blocks when the ball-carrier is near, latching on with his long arms and big hands for the drag-down tackle. Seemed to improve nearly game to game in 2012, especially when it came to locating the football. Began to sniff out screens and draws as the season wore on, demonstrating good awareness and hustle to complement his physical traits. Already shows excellent recognition and use of hands in pass defense, getting his hands up to knock down nine passes in 2012.

Possesses significant untapped potential and is an ascending talent whose best football is ahead of him.

WEAKNESSES: Lacks elite first-step quickness off the snap. Relies too much on his speed, size and an explosive first punch to shock his opponent with his initial surge, struggling to break free if the blocker grabs a hold of Ansah's jersey or chest plate.

Must learn to chop with his hands most consistently and powerfully to break free once engaged. Allows his pad level to rise and can be pushed back in the running game. Has only played football since 2010 and has just one season as a starter.

COMPARES TO: Jason Pierre-Paul, DE, New York Giants -- Ansah is not the same terror-off-the-edge pass-rusher that Pierre-Paul was coming out of South Florida, but he's similarly gifted and plays with greater commitment to the run. Like there was with Pierre-Paul, there is some risk factor with Ansah, but his upside is through the roof.

Dion Jordan
HT. 6-6
WT. 243
OREGON
2012 STATS 44 TKLS 10.5 TFL 5.0 SCKS

Strengths: Rare athleticism for his size with loose hips and smooth footwork to move naturally in any direction. Looks like a basketball small forward in football pads with his tall, long frame and flexible joints, looking comfortable in space.

Fluid change of direction skills in his transition, quickly redirecting. Very good first step with natural bend and closing burst off the edge to flatten to the quarterback. Active and doesn't quit. Uses his length well with violent hand use, using quick mitts to make it tough for blockers to combat them.

Physical striker to separate man from ball with the arms to easily wrap and finish. Fiery demeanor and has a good head on his shoulders. Good awareness and experience lining up all over the defenses' front-7, even spending time covering the slot receiver and dropping in coverage. Still growing and sky is the limit with his athletic potential.

Weaknesses: Lean and lanky body type. Needs to add bulk to his frame and get stronger, but there are questions about how much weight he can add to his body. Lacks dominant upper body power to win with his hands. Still learning his pass rush moves and needs to develop in this area.

Needs to stay controlled, often overrunning the pocket or his intended target. Lacks experience putting his hand on the ground and rushing from a 3-point stance. Lacks a natural position and will be viewed as a defensive end by some and a strong-side linebacker by others.

Still raw in a lot of areas and will need time to grow at the next level. Strong durability concerns with various injuries over his career, notably a tender right shoulder that plagued him much of 2012. Only average production at Oregon with just 14.5 career sacks

Compares to: Chandler Jones, DE, New England Patriots - Although Jones is stronger and a bit more polished at this point in his development, scouts see that type of potential for Jordan plus he brings much more position versatility and upside.

I had never heard of Ezekiel Ansah but the film looks very impressive. Dion Jordan is terrorizing. Ansah was a track guy so i can just imagine him coming off the edge. Both have lined up all over the field, Jordan has even lined up over slot recievers. What do you guys think???

I JUST WANNA HEAR IT...." GO SAINTS ALL THE WAY SAINTS GO ALL THE WAAAAY GO SAINTS ALL THE WAY SAINTS GO ALL THE WAAAAY ( I BELIEVE)!!!!!!! GOD I LOVE THAT SONG!!!!!!

The only time I saw Ansah LIVE was at the Senior Bowl and he could potentially become a sleeper pick. Dion appears to be talented enough to make an immediate impact at the NFL level. Time will tell.

The last time we drafted a DLineman from BYU it was a total disaster. I even hate to mention this particular name.

I'd be over the moon if they were able to get Jordan in the 1st, he could play OLB in his rookie season since he can rush and cover, and when/if he bulks up he could become a DE later on.

I would go with a big bad DT, nothing against these guys but without a disruptive DT they may not look as good.

I think we can find an old dog in free agency cheap to fill this role. NT in a 3-4 is not a glamour position and usually older guys grasp that concept.
Ansah looks good but I can't get over hearing that Jordan occasionally lined up over slot recievers and excelled in coverage.

If Dion Jordan is there at 15, that phone call between the guy in NYC and Loomis better last about 2 seconds

Re: Two names from CBS Sports Mock

Both guys have impressive athletic ability, but right now I would lean more toward Ansah, if I had to choose between these two.

While I wouldn't be disappointed to get Dion Jordan, he seems like more hype than anything at the moment. I'm sure he can get better, and the upside is high, but Ansah has just as high of a ceiling and seems to be a better all around player, despite having only played football for a couple years.

Jordan is really undersized, and would be like adding another Martez Wilson as that hybrid OLB/DE type. We don't really need two of the same type of player, in my opinion. He has all the physical skills, but little refinement, and I'm just not in the mood for another project player. Plus, his injury history bothers me.

With Ansah, he's a guy who is still learning, as well, but in a very short amount of time has come a long, long way. I see that only continuing at the next level, and at the rate he's going, he could be an absolute beast in very short order. He already has near-ideal size, to go with his excellent speed, and from what I can see, he takes precise routes to ball carriers. He doesn't have huge sack numbers, but he gets in the backfield plenty, and I think with continued development he will have little trouble getting to the QB.

He's no guarantee, obviously, but as every player in the draft carries some risk, I think this guy is worth it. Unless someone like Jarvis Jones falls in our lap, but that is highly unlikely. There are other players I would love to have, but not sure any of them will be there.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

I see that the comparison is Ansah= JPP & Jordan=Chandler Jones.

I don't know about yall....might be just me...but

I would take a JPP in a hearbeat over Chandler Jones....

Re: Two names from CBS Sports Mock

Dion Jordan is 6-6 243, thats awfully light for a 3-4 DE/OLB.

It'll be interesting to see what his real height/weight are at the combine.

Currently NFLDraftScout.com has him ranked 26th overall and the 7th best DE.

I'm not all that excited about him at all.
