Trading up with next years picks.

After reading SI offseason preview in which they mention, that the Saints would consider moving back into the second round by trading next years picks. I have mixed feelings about it. Saints have shown that they are not afraid to make these ki d of moves. Given the change to a 34 losing a 2nd rd pick in a deep defensive draft is troubling. How do you feel about trading future picks for Immediate help.

If the right players are there and they feel it's worth the risk, I'm all for it. Lots of quality players in the mid rounds.

Oh and frick Goodell.

I would not mind doubling up on pass rushers. Say J. Jones and A.Okefor. NT like J Jenkins or Jesse Williams

If the right player is there go get him.
Do what we have to do,be aggressive if the players are available.
I'm hoping we do it next year for Jake Mathews if he continues his progression.

As badly as we do in the draft, it's just too bad we can't trade the damn things for some cap space.

i just do feel so needy in this draft to freak out on the defense side of the ball. i blame coaching ego for 60% of the defensive troubles

so trading back in round 1 and getting a second or a third is ok.

or/and trade back into the second like paz said " for the right player is cool also.

Yeah, I mean if the player is right and the trade terms are acceptable... why wouldn't you make that move?

Might be the year to do it, since we're switching to the 3-4.

I think we will see more 34 but i would not be surprised to see the saints open the season in a 43 for most of the first 8 games of the 2013 season.

As the players are introduced to playing a 34 and players are bounced around to see were they fit.

i will be nervous if the saints open the season as a predominate 34 defense. if so the i fear the same old round peg square hole mentality will rear its ugly head.

Your notion would seem to be supported by the fact that Ryan admitted that he made a mistake with the Cowboys' defense in trying to force his scheme on them far too quickly, so they might - like you suggested - start things off slowly with the base scheme transition.
