Do we have a need for Te'o

I just feel maybe we should get him. Also, if we don't someone else in our division could. i would not want to slip up an opportunity for him and remember when we were about to take Whitherspoon and falcons took him from right under us when the teams drafting after them were not targeting him before us, such as colts. If falcons get Te'o it would be another missed opportunity for us and a gain for them. He's projected to go to the ravens though i don't think he waits that long. There is something about this guy, he might even be better than what we already have at ILB. I just wouldnt want to pass this up.

And idk there is something about Mingo that can go really good or really bad.

Re: Do we have a need for Te'o

He's a bust.

Bama ran right at him and abused him all game long. He's too weak, too slow, too finesse and too much of a drama queen.

If Bama trucked him all game, what do you think NFL teams will do?

I wouldn't touch him in the 1st 3 rounds.

All I see is risk, risk. I don't think that would be a wise draft pick.

Pass

There are much better options for an ILB in the draft than Te'o

Well we can get him for super cheap...
No league min... just imaginary girlfriends

Re: Do we have a need for Te'o

No, he's best suited to be a 4-3 MLB, and the Saints don't need a player like that at the moment regardless of whether he is a good player or not.

Don't need him.
Check out the attached pic of my girlfriend.......

NO.

We'd have to build the first lockerroom for a known-gay football player.

Alaska

Ogletree is the better ILB anyway.

TheOak 03-05-2013 05:51 AM

We need Te'o as much as we need another thread about Te'o

lee909 03-05-2013 06:10 AM

I don't think he will be a bad player in the long term.I know he was terrible in the Bama game but 1 game shouldn't wipe out a good college career.
He isn't a first rounder especially with the issue has had.If we had two second rounders and he was available I wouldn't have been disappointed getting him.But we need to be very careful with only 5 picks and he has too many question marks. He would be the third ILB I'd take in the draft.

Wow I'd swear I was on a Falcons board with some of the idiotic posts in this thread.

Future ESPN reporters here....
Nothing to do or talk about during the off season so we revisit the same dead topics multiple times.

Yeah, but we're doing it to pass the time and have a few laughs. We're not trying to pass it off like it's real or anything. We come here, enjoy our amateur idiot status for a bit then go on to some important occupation.

Damn, I promised myself not to post in another Te'no thread!

Totally agree with Danno on this. Bama exposed him as a fraud. The biggest game in Notre Dame history in over 20 years and you can't play at a high level. What's going to motivate him in the NFL?

he is good but i think he has been exposed for the ND media love child.

watch tape on the kid and you have to wonder why he is up that high in the first place. Hyped by the media

late 1st maybe. second is about right

Overhyped player that will end up being a good not great player. Late1st to mid 2nd Dont see him on our team

Hell and no. He played for ND. They see no real competition. When they finally did, (SEC Alabama), he folded.

Kordell Stewart in Pittsburg was the first.

Re: Do we have a need for Te'o

We have zero need for an ILB. Aside from that, Te'o is horrible and will not be a 1st round pick. It has nothing to do with his man/girlfriend. He just plain isn't any good. He can tackle you if you ran at him, but he's not going to chase anyone down. Slow, stiff, pretty good instincts, but not near enough ability.

I think Courtney Watson was a better prospect, and we saw how he worked out at this level.

He wasn't nearly as hyped, but you're probably right that Courtney was a better prospect. I pretty much want nothing to do with any Notre Dame players, as they always seem to lack speed and athleticism. Courtney ran ok, but he was so weak.

The glory days of Irish football died a long time ago, despite what they thought they had accomplished last year. Thier schedule was so pathetic, and every team who was supposed to be good on that schedule ended sucking. Aside from Stanford, whom they beat in controversy. Man, I'm really drifting off subject.

Re: Do we have a need for Te'o

We have Hawthorne and Lofton for ILBer. They look like the starters we need. That and we've still got Vilma for the moment, even though he didn't excel at the 3-4. At OLBer we need someone to take the leadership role and Jr. and Wilson "could" be good players we just don't know.
Besides I think we need to go tackle in the first round either offense or defense.

Not much interest before but certainly not after watching him bounce off of the Bama backs.

+1. Looks like all of those close games versus Pitt, MSU, BYU & Stanford were pretty accurate after all.
