Which Saints player currently on the roster breaks out??
 

I am wondering if and who on the Saints roster has a breakout year?
We will start with Offense and Defensive Starters.
QB probably looking for new Backup
FB. No change
RB Sproles will be better with Payton back Ingram should get more carrys and hopefully lives up to his draft #
WR J. Morgan should fill the deep threat role.
TE J.Graham fixed wrist should help with drops
OT Streif should be healedup
OG Grubbs and EVans snuff said
C DLP solid

DEFENSE

LDE Cam Jordan think he could be our best
NT. B.Bunkley played at Denver and had a great year.
RDE A.HICKS expecting big things
ILB C..LOFTON new leader of D
ILB D.HAWTHORNE looking for him to make a much bigger impact played out of position and was injured.
OLB MARTEZ WIlLSON better suits his experience and will let use his talents and strengths.
OLB J. GALLETTE may see more snaps and gives him a chance to be more than just a situational player.
CB P .ROB must Improve
CB J. GREER returns to form gets healthty
FS MALCOM JENKINS hope he returns to form IMHO he is a baller
SS R.Harper RR needs to use him and play to his strengths not in coverage.

Now I would like to look at non starters that could make bigger contributions this year.
ABDUL QUDDUS S played well need to step up and make more splash plays
BRAYLON BRIUGHTON DE. I think that he has potiential. NFP Russ Landed listed him in an article on practice players that teams should steal.
CHARLES BROWN OT Now or never really need help at both Tackles.
R. BUSH S may have bigger role in new 34
TAVARIS CADET RB Needs to be more of a factor in ST play going to be tough to break in at RB
CHRIS CHAMBERLIN. OLB Mystery as to where he fits in 34 should be healthy might be trade bait
ELBERT MACK Played ok in limited role Nickel CB role wide open
JOESPH MORGAN WR deep threat role is his for the taking,made the most of his chances last year
NICK TOON WR was the buzz in training camp. will get every chance to earn a spot
TYRUANN WALKER DT not sure if he is NT or DE in 34
COREY WHITE CB Saw good and bad plays should improve with OTA and training camp

If you're comparing them to last year, I'm going to say the entire defense. Which, when I think about it isn't saying a great deal....

I'm hoping it's Ingram on offense and Robinson on defense. It's year 3 for Ingram and we were consistently feeding him the ball the second half of the season. I'd like to see 200-225 carries from him to see what we have in him for the future. As far Robinson is concerned, Greer isn't getting any younger and we don't have anything besides him for the future. We need to be able to know he's ready to be that guy.

Offense? Ingram finally gets it together.
Defense? Martez Wilson in a 3-4 defense could very well become All-Pro.

I am hoping Toon has a break out year, but I think this is when we really see Hicks come into form. I am also looking forward to seeing what that guy from the Canadian league that was hurt is going to look like. I forget his name.

Martez Wilson has the athletic ability as does P Rob. Wilson helping the pass rush could help all our secondary.,

I want to see White come on strong we need something good to happen in our secondary. Let Harper go then get someone either Reed or someone else this will make us better from jump street.

Breakout players that would help the Saints to deep in the Playoffs
C Brian De La Puente, - took a step backwards last year
RB TAVARIS CADET - I hope he worked on blitz pickups
DE/NT A.HICKS - what a nice void he could fill
OLB MARTEZ WIlLSON - Is he or is not the OLB i thought
CB COREY WHITE - What a steal if he picks up where he left off in 2013

Top of my list of players that must improve

ILB David.HAWTHORNE

R. BUSH - Harpers job is up for the taking

ELBERT MACK - #3? can he take a hold of it and hold on to it

Drew sets a new record for throwing a TD in every qtr for an entire season.


Which equates to an epic season for our receivers also.

And some set new records for humble pie.

On defense, I'm sticking with Galette. We don't know about his coverage skills but I think the guy has the ability to have a 10+ sack season if he can stay healthy.

On offense, it's hard not to pick Ingram or Morgan. They both have shown impressive ability at times. Morgan's TD against the Bucs last year was phenomenal.

On special teams, please be Hartley. I don't want to refer to him as "Hardly" anymore.

Tom Johnson - naturally
Greg Romeus - wouldn't that be a underdog story of the decade?!
Braylon Broughton - it would certainly be unexpected

I think Johnson looks pretty good as a 3-4 DE. I think it suits him better... and he was already pretty solid in his part time role inside. I think he can be better and more productive outside.
