Being Patient

This seems to be getting ugly, real fast. Now we need to fill some offensive and defensive holes. Any news on possible Bushrod replacements? Any chance of a solid left tackle coming on board? Or is this our #1 pick now? Lane Johnson?

Yeah we are letting everyone fly by us. thankfully Atlanta and Tampa haven't got anybody yet.

Did Green Bay or Atlanta pick up Steven Jackson?

Re: Being Patient

Green Bay is the front runner.

I'm sure we have numerous contingency plans in the works.

No one thought Bushrod could hold down the fort when we let Brown go.

For some strange reason I feel Loomis and Payton may actually have a plan.

Oh crap! In the last five hours we we became bottom feeders!
Whatever shall we do? Fire Loomis and Payton! Start a petition to force Benson to sell the team!
Rending of garments!
Gnashing of teeth!
Sacrifice all first born sons!
Call in Mel Gibson to translate our playbook into Aramaic!

Or? Do none of that and wait.

Or take the whole thing out of context, and not understand that we all know Loomis and Payton know what they are doing! It is a simple question of how we, as fans, think it will go!

This seems to happen every year. The first week of free agency a lot of players are way way overpaid and we fans wonder WTF is going on? Why aren't we signing any of these big names?

The 2nd/3rd week of free-agency hits and we start signing mid-tier guys left and right for reasonable salaries to fill holes.

We almost always enter the draft without any huge holes to fill and can pick up BPA every round.

I've seen this show so many times its becoming boring, but its a recipe for continued success and keeps our window open indefinitely.

OK, I re-read your post.

You are calling the first five hrs of a several months long process a disaster and then talking about context?

These first few hours are basically a vacuum. It has no context because the sample is too small. Context comes with time, distance and reflection.

Deep breaths :)

I don't think RMS was specifically targeting your post as much as he's targeting the massive amount of OMG WTF we see and hear everywhere every season.

Your title nails it... BE PATIENT!

BTW, welcome to the community and thank you for donating. Halo does a wonderful job for us and isn't compensated nearly enough for all he has done over the years.

This is a time when a lot of info and opinions come very quickly at all of us. I wasn't trying to disparage your post. Danno summed it up better than I can above.

Truce?

There was no hard feelings! I was just making sure you knew I was not trying to hang myself with Matt Ryan's playoff socks. I am new to this site, but have been an unwavering fan since a fetus. I look forward to chatting with you guys throughout the season(all year long).

Nope , that feeling you are having is a bowel movement.

Now I just went on twitter and they're saying Revis could stay put..............Idk though.

I'm curious about the big signing we have. It seems like its going to be Namdi after all or Ryan worked his brother for Revis. Anyone else would not be considered a big FA signing.

The early bird gets the worm and takes it in the butt doing so. We'll get our worms when everyone else is tapped out. There are more worms than birds and we will find some decent ones.
