Compensatory picks are awarded each year at the NFL annual meeting which is held at the end of March; typically, about three or four weeks before the draft.

Atl gets 4 picks and SF gets 3 :/

I believe losing Bushrod will affect next years compensatory picks

We didn't compensated for bushrod cause the picks are given to teams who lost a significant player the season before (2011-12) not the present season (2012-13)

We didn't lose any great players in FA so this doesn't surprise me.

Compensatory picks come the following year, not the year you cut someone.

Think about it, how could a team get compensatory picks this season for losing FAs this season when FA is not over with?
