No, for the redskins ... you know, take a bite, put a little ketchup, take another bite, little more ketchup ... but I'm not gonna' do that, . Instead, I'm just showing up with a case of icy cold, bohemian-style beer (just like they drank on the roof of Shawshank Redemption) and the eating utensils I was born with, . I can just use hot sauce on the redskins ... there will be hot sauce, won't there?

If the potatoes are done right, you won't need hot sauce. But you can still BYOHS if you want.

I use ketchup, horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, and Tabasco as a dip for potatos. If you dip, then you dip... Own it

... I actually keep a bottle of that Sriracha in the fridge at all times, but I'll be heading out PDQ to see if I can scare up any of that Chickracha packaged in similiar fashion.

Re: Its Time: MUDBUGS IV !!!!!

After looking at airline tickets & bus tickets, it's apparent that it's just as cost-effective for me to drive and probably a lot less hassle.

It also occurred to me that if there's anyone between Detroit & SkyMike's place that's considering going but transportation is a problem, I got room in the SUV. Don't mind going a bit out of my way to pick someone up along the way either and my itinerary is flexible to accomodate passengers, but "ass, gas or grass, no one rides for free" is one of the mantras I live by, ... and I really would prefer just the gas.

Tenative itinerary:

Depart Detroit - 5/29 or 5/30
Arrive MudBugs IV - 5/31

Depart MudBugs IV - 6/2 or 6/3
Arrive Detroit - 6/4(ish) (like anyone's ever in a hurry to get back to Detroit, , but I do kinda' have something to do on June 6th)

PM me for the roadtrip of a lifetime. Experience scenic Baytown, Wallisville, Mont Belivue, surrounding TX points and MudBugs firsthand.

Everyone should make the pilgrimage at least once, .

Re: Its Time: MUDBUGS IV !!!!!

Awesome that you are making the long drive down here for the boil this year. It's better that you have a vehicle when getting around down here since everything is so spread out, and Mike's swamphouse is not the easiest place to find, as I found out last year.

Re: Its Time: MUDBUGS IV !!!!!

(note: posters who arent coming: please hold the "i cant make it/wish i could be there" posts, in order to keep the thread as tight as possible-- thanks.)

Lets get rolling.

--saturday June 1st

Our awesome Swamphouse is off I-10 between Beaumont & Baytown-- I'll send you details/directions.

Boilermeisters, hows the bugs looking?

Lets get a headcount by next tuesday May 28th. It always grows, and thats ok.

Just like last year, a bunch of you have offered to kick in $$ for crawfish, thanks! Whatever we need shouldnt be much, thanks to yall, & I dont mind handling a good chunk of it myself.

Would love to have all the crazy food like last year. Everyone does a little something, and we have more than we need.

Kids are welcome-- we have em, We got a big yard, park next door, river to swim in, if they arent scared of gators. Plenty for them to do. There will be other kids. And they can bring them little brain sucker things they carry around.

Lets rock the Black and Gold!

I'd love big Saints flags again, and Saints Tents, and Saints stuff everywhere. I have a big balcony you can hang stuff off of. I'll have the sound system /and flashy lights playing the Saints/NOLA/LA tunes.

more stuff to bring: Who has this? (I'll fill this in with names, like last time)
1. tables
2. chairs
3. ice chests !!!
4. chips/dips
5. beer - Lynwood: purple haze
6. soda
7. water
8. paper towels, plastic utensils, reddd soooloo cups
9. a little cash for crawfish
-- dont know what our price/lb is
yet, but it shouldnt be much, should be painless, & again, I'll pick up the slack.

Also:
1. more Saints Flags and decorative stuff - remember, I have a balcony!
2. TENTS! Lets do them tents again. Its a tailgate party in the yard!
3. any dessert you want to bring
4. any other eats you want to bring, very much appreciated.
5. popeyes anyone? (some of your guests dont do crawfish)

what else?

basically, when you hear this music, you're close.
