Its Time: MUDBUGS IV !!!!!
 

Hi B&G brothers!
First of all, Halo, and everybody, my biggest apologies for laying low.
Business is going nuts & I literally havent had a spare moment.

For those of you new to B&G, or who are unfamiliar, Mudbugs IV
will be the 4th annual blowup for the Hou-Dats, SE Texas & Houston
area Chapter of WhoDat Nation.

We Hou-Dats started it, but last year we got Saints fans from San Antonio
on one end, to Lafayette, and New Orleans on the other. I expect some
friends from Mississippi, this year.

It was a giant tailgate party in my front yard last year.... tents, flags, and a
bunch of crazy people dressed in Saints Gear. My neighbors have learned to live with my eccentricity. We had THREE pots of mudbugs. (Thank You GulfCoastGambler, Budsdrinker, & Kajun Kookin'!) music,
too damn much food, beer, sweets, liquor, and of course a bunch of loud,
hollerin Cajun's.

Im targeting Saturday April 27.

It's going to be a challenge to have a weekend where everyone can get together. Hope we can pull it off.

ok... well we're having some difficulty....

May is out for me, except the first weekend, and I think Rob is unable
to do that weekend.

I believe Ed & Edvina also have a problem with April 27.

Im totally booked in May. Rob (KajunKookin) is out for may also.....and we
cant live without his boudin balls & pot O Bugs....

How does June 1 sound?

I'm with Hagan. Mikey! I can never get there in the late spring/early summer. Usually I go visit family in Louisiana and Alabama in the fall. Which means I'll have to deal with ya'll having fun without me.

But when I come down in the fall YOU have to meet me at Pat O's after one of the games! Last time you were a no show!

Mike, the only problem that I see with June 1 is that the season is nearly over and it might be hard to find places that still have crawfish available.
I don't want MUDBUGS IV to turn into BBQI!

Thanks, I always joked with Tiffany that if we ever had a son, he would be named after either the coach or qb that won the Saints the Superbowl. This was back when I thought I'd never see that happen so she was always like yeah, sure whatever. And then after the "suspension" it was a done deal. I really wanted Sean Andrew but we "negotiated" on Sean Landon because Landon was her #1 pick for first name

Looks like the 27th is not a good date for many people...figures; that's the one weekend in April we're free! In terms of moving it a week earlier, as someone suggested, I think we're the only ones who are already booked on the 20th...if so, and if that's the best date for everyone else, we may just have to miss it this year or be very late...we're booked until 4pm that day.

Coming after 4pm doesn't seem very late to me. Even if you can't get there till 6pm, I don't think that's a problem. I know we will still have crawfish based on last year's boil. C'mon, you can still make it over to see all of us!

Here's the update, of what I know about who I know.....

April 20 is bad for some of us
April 27 is bad for some of us + its Jazzfest
May 4 some of you have events.
May 11, 18, 25 I have weddings

What would you think of May 26, the Sunday before Memorial Day?

My other options are Sunday May 5 --- and some of you dont want a Sunday.
(but that is my birthday weekend)

And June 1st -- I boldly predict crawfish to still be plentiful on June 1st.

Mike, my April dates are not good with 2 weekend conferences.

June 1st is definitely good for me. For some reason, April has come very quickly this year and I almost don't feel it's time for Mudbugs, but let's hope we can get the June 1 date on tap.

HALO!!!!!! Whats up! I thought you died.
Im 99% sure we're going with June 1st. Just going on faith that the
Bugs will be plentiful, and with the weather we've had, so far, so good.

This year has been short and fast indeed. And yes, we will very soon be
plotting to invade Reliant Stadium for the Saints tailgate. Count on it!

This is where I'm at: I overcommitted for April, could probably work with a June 1st date if that's the consensus, but don't let me influence any date. I figure to make one of these sooner-or-later and they're planned well enough in advance so that I can sit in the shadows & wait to see if it fits my schedule or not.

That being said, I better start doing some pushups, :lol:.

Wow, this would be awesome, once you get a concrete date set, it would be easy enough to get a GTAH (guaranteed time at home) and drive 3 hours down from Killeen and meet some of y'all. Keep us posted and updated.

June 1 shouldn't be a problem getting crawfish, the problem is they could be hard to peel. As the water heats up the shells get harder kinda like, oh never mind that's another story.

Thanks Buds.... I've had some doubters around the house, but somehow
I know we'll be good.

As for what is needed, I'll dig up my stuff from last year.... and we can
start planning pretty quick.

One thing I like about the late date, is plenty of time to prepare.
This way we can be bigger, funner, and more ridiculous than ever.
