Browns Release S Usama Young

Quote:

Browns released S Usama Young.Recovering from thumb surgery, Young was going into the final year of his contract. Young stuffed the stat-sheet in 2012, tallying 53 tackles, 1.5 sacks and three interceptions, but also dealt with a concussion and knee injury. A replacement-level talent, Young failed to win a starting job out of camp. Going on 28, Young should draw interest as a third safety. Apr 2 - 4:14 PM

Hmmm, decent back-up perhaps?

Didn't like seeing him go, so at the right price and if he still has enough to offer - I don't watch the Browns, so I don't know how he played there - I wouldn't mind seeing him back with the B&G.

Lemme see.... bad knee, couldn't catch before the thumb surgery...uuuuhhhh

No. Thanks for playing for us and giving us your best, but no.

Wait, he intercepted 3 passes? In the same year? The sky is falling.

Re: Browns Release S Usama Young

I still remember him getting torched by Manning for a TD on his ONE PLAY he comes for during the Super Bowl. I loved everybody on that '09 team, they all were magical, but no thanks in 2013. Good special teamer and good character/locker room off-field guy but that's not really our need right now.

Rather see the Saints use whatever little cap space they have left on a LT.

I always liked him. Bring him back and let him fight for a job. Maybe Rob Ryan can work with him..

Re: Browns Release S Usama Young

Apparently a whole lot of people forgot he moved to safety.

He's not a CB anymore.

If Carl Nicks, Jonathan Goodwin, Chase Daniel, Abreyo Franklin, Matt Giordano, Jermon Bushrod, Vontae Leach, Jo Lonn Dunbar, and Rob Ninkovich all want to come back, I would have no problem with it.

Good special teams player who would up the competition level. But, only for the vet minimum. He got his chance to start and proved he only has solid backup ability in the NFL.

Which is the only reason we'd sign him.

I like what I've seen out of IAQ, but I've seen nothing out of Raphael Bush that gets me fired up.

Raphael bush actually had a good end to the season for a backup, forced fumble and recovery vs falcons and pick vs bucs

He was 10 yards from the WR when he made that pick. It was a miscommunication on the pass.

He might be good, there's a reason we signed him but he really hasn't played enough to judge one way or another yet.

For such a young kid on the bubble, Raphael sure does have a lot of fans wearing his jersey, though. ;)

Familiarity between him and Allen could've clinched it, as it probably did with Porter as well.
