San Francisco has 15 draft picks and 1.3M in cap space.... See where this is going?

To cut to the chase, I believe there will be quality players released after the draft... By quality I mean a player at a position better than what we have at that position.

The NFL trade deadline is not till week 6 I believe, so it's very plausible that our depth chart will look different before week 1, with names not in the draft or FA.

Well spoken sir, with tactics like you've seen this before...

Well crap.. Since I have wasted 5 minutes of your life I should just round up. :-)

Another

Rams - 8 Picks - 500K in Cap Room

Best case scenario
The three teams Rams, 49ers, Falcons have a total of 34 draft picks. A COMBINED $3.4M in Cap space.

League Minimum salary is $405K so the three teams combined can presently afford 8 draft picks total. This also doesn't account for the cost of their practice squads.

So between the draft and the first few weeks of the regular season at least 26 players from these three teams of mixed caliber and experience will be on the market.

1 or 2 of those should be upgrades.

Camp will decide who and how many players New Orleans lets go. I do not see us making cuts with dead money associated and the two largest targets are Ivory and PT. My gut tells me ivory will go down for some reason in camp, get cut, and free up $2M.

Practice squad players make approximately 5,700 per week (2012).

For an 8 man PS for 16 weeks thats only 729,000 total.
