I just saw this and I am a fan, I wouldn't mind seeing how Rob Ryan will use Mingo. What do you all think?

Saints will probably trade down for a second rounder and grab Kawann Short late in the first round, then a good offensive tackle in the second. Just a prediction.

I think if Mingo is there at 15 we take him. I don't think he will be though. I am all for dropping if he isn't. We won't see any o-line worthy of 15 so we could move down and try to re-coup a #2.

In almost every mock I've seen has Mingo to the Saints.

If one of the true impact defensive players fall, not Mingo, the Saints will take him. Otherwise, the Saints need to protect Brees. The revolving door at RT last year was bad. Fluker will be an All-Pro at RT. Impact on defense or an all-pro RT. For the Saints to trade down, sombody would have to want to trade up. Don't see that happening.

I was asked on twitter if Mingo played for UCF would he still be considered by the Saints? I don't believe so but only because UCF is conference USA not SEC.

With the loss of Bushrod, LT is a bigger need than RT.

I think if the right trade presents itself we will trade down. I like Mingo, but I'm not sure he starts right away. If we do hold onto that pick at 15, then we need to find a potential starter with it. I'm not sure you can justify bringing in someone who still needs seasoning, or is making a move to a position that he might not be ready for.

Ok. Why does everyone wanna take mingo. I never recognized him as an elit pass rusher. What about the obvious in "Jarvis Jones" !!!! What's wrong with him. He's heavier than mingo and he PRODUCED in the SEC. Or we could trade down for tank carradine, okafor, or even Margus Hunt! What about those options. They seem to be better pass rushers than Mingo!

Because Jones has a red flag over him due to his spinal stenosis. He also underperformed at his pro day. I like Mingo better. The only way I see us taking Jones, is if we trade down toward the end of the first round and he is still there.

There is a reason most of ESPN's mocks have Mingo going at 9 or better. He fills a serious need for us. I'm praying he drops to us at 15. The Saints could surely use some more speed on D, and Mingo definetely provides that. But I admit I could see us taking an LSU player with every pick. I love FB Copeland, Mathieu, and even Logan to mention a few possibiles.

I really like Mingo. I watched him play from West Monroe and through college. I really think he has a HUGE upside. We have depth at LB to pull him in and sit him if we have too. Start him slowly into the mix and let him learn the OLB position. Anyone remember Demarcus Ware? He was considered a "project". The guy is a beast. If the right OT or trade down is not happening I would jump all over him.

The only way I want to trade down is if we get the honey badger in the second round. If he stayed in school and didnt have issues homeboy would be a top three pick. I know we need a lot but damn I want us to get that dude.

A top 3 pick? No way he's even a 1st rounder.

Mathieu has a load of talent but even if he stayed out of troublr he would of been a mid rd 1 at best. He is lacking the size of a top 10 pick

He's weak, look at his reps. He also got in trouble not once, but twice. Maybe in the 3rd but that's a stretch. Why use a pick on someone with serious mental issues these days. I know I wouldn't. He hasn't played ball in a while either. He a rust bucket with problems.

Re: Saints take Mingo in the latest Mock Draft, I like this pick

I said if he didnt have issues. You have to remember he was only a sophmore and was in the hunt for the heisman. When he got in trouble that changed everything. I think if he stays out of trouble and thats a big if then someone is getting a steal. I know he is not going in the first but the second round is very possible.

Funny reading some of these posts... To small, to Slow, not talented enough. If that is the guy then that is the guy you make the pic.

There are plenty of players who were to small end up in the hall of fame.

I'm warming up to Austin and Patterson at WR, if the top defenders are off the board.

Colston is aging
Moore is basically a slot guy, albeit a great one.
Morgan has potential to be a solid #2.
Toon might be a good posession guy, we don't know yet.

I could definitely see Payton/Loomis picking either of these two guys easily.

You want a difference maker in the 1st round. These two are difference makers.

Its possible that the only defenders available when we pick are B-prospects.

I'll take an A-prospect WR over a B-prospect Defender all day long.

Especially seeing how it looks like there's a huge batch of B & B+ Defenders out there this year.
