Re: Trade Down Quandry?

sure plenty of teams in the second with more than 2 picks in the 2nd. question is which team feels they are close to taking the next step and need one or two key players to get there?

then again depends on who falls to you. look at the rams needs. they pick after us then look at multi pick teams that have the same needs as the rams. those are the the ones that should call.

then you have the wild card teams trades were you just can not figure out why the heck they just traded.

i think we should have a solid chance of trading out this year as long as the rams are picking after us

Re: Trade Down Quandry?

My hope is the Bengals want to jump past the rams for a WR or ILB.
They have two second rounders to play with, the other option is somebody that 49ers want falls to 15 and they may trade up with there own and Kansas 2nd rounder.

Re: Trade Down Quandry?

I'm still hoping the 49ers will give up a great deal to get Tavon Austin. I've also heard that they will make a play for Vaccaro. So here's my ridiculous scenario and who I'd like to take:
We trade our first (15) for their 1(31), 2(29), 3(31), 5(24), and 7(46). We also trade Chris Ivory to the Jets for their 4(9). Some of these guys might not fall far enough but it is plausible.
1(31) ILB Alec Ogletree
2(29) DL Jesse Williams
3(13) LB Jamie Collins
3(31) NT John Jenkins or the best CB available, maybe Blidi Wreh-Wilson
4(9) OL Barrett Jones
4(12) S Shawn Williams
5(11) OT Chris Faulk
5(24) CB Tharold Simon or RB Kenjon Barner, or QB Landry Jones
6(15) NT TJ Barnes
7(46) S Robert Lester or TE Joseph Fauria or any of a trio of WRs, Brandon Kaufman, Marcus Davis, or Charles Johnson

Who would you guys take in this scenario? Also, the 49ers have two second round picks if we're looking to trade completely out of the first.

Re: Trade Down Quandry?

We don't trade very often.......trading up hasn't really worked for this FO.
If we trade back I would only trade once. The higher you draft the better the talent in the pool. The question is can we identify it and get it when we pick?
It really all depends on the Saints board and how many players are still on it when we pick.

Re: Trade Down Quandry?

browns, jets, bills, lions, eagles, and panthers have all been rumored to want to trade down and they all draft in front of us. not sure what that means, maybe nothing, but its just information

Re: Trade Down Quandry?

well right now it looks to be a historical draft for OL if these mock are correct.

5 OL in the top 10 never has happened
top 15? that to is very rare

says a lot about the defensive talent and the lack of flash in the draft
