The one QB I wouldn't mind taking

Ryan Griffin, QB, Tulane

While we're a long way from needing Drews replacement (as I've vehemently defended countless times), I wouldn't mind spending our 6th on this guy. He could develop into a good back-up and after a year or two on the practice squad/53 roster he may also draw some trade interest, especially if Chase Daniel does well in KC.

If Chase does well it should translate into other teams taking note of how Sean develops QB's and it may be an opportunity to acquire a solid back-up AND present some trade value if he shines in pre-season games and occasional regular season duty.

Just a thought.

He's getting some positive buzz now so I don't think he'll be an UDFA.

Definitely a fan of us getting griffin, I think under drew and seans guidance he could become a very good QB and maybe even our future

I dont think he will be an UDFA, he has all the intangibles you look for in a QB, I think we could get him between 5th-7th round

All the more reason to accept the Jets lesser draft pick

Watched him play in person. I like the guy. I would like to see Colton Browning from ULM next year. Guy reminds me a lot of Brees but has some wheels.

I've only read good things about him although I've never seen him play. We may need to use every pick on defense except for OT.

Lot of good buzz about this kid.

Didn't I read somewhere that we had shown interest in him? I wouldn't mind having him either.

If they can get him with a late pick, fine. Give Sean Payton a young QB to groom.

Also, I think Curtis Johnson ran the Saints offense at Tulane last year, so, that should help him get up to speed.

Posted this before about him on the draft thread, and as a Tulane alum I've got to see him play, so let me say that when he was finally surrounded with some talent at the Texas v. World Bowl Game - he really jumped out as a Quarterback...

I think Browning is the best college QB in Louisiana right now.

If he's a better option than McCown, Wallace or Canfield - which admittedly isn't saying much - then I see no reason not to bring him over if he is the BPA in one of the later rounds.

I HEAR U! But I believe a former #1 overall talent is ready to grow up and be a star I know y'all are going be like heck no but this dude's talent is undeniable
JaMarcus Russell I know it's crazy he had a terrible work ethic and didn't know if he love football but now looking at his interviews he looks like he's got his mind right and I believe given that he's getting his weight in check with workout warrior Jeff Garcia but Drew and Sean could help tap his ability and heck he's only 26 so give him 2 yrs in practice squad he could really come back as a starter probably not for Saints given Drew is healthy and I think he wants to play as long as he is effective but I totally believe in redemption and second chances given I am the product of secon heck 3rd chances so I believe his mind wasn't ever right he never in Oakland like it was at LSU. From his interview it sound's like he was lost after two of his uncle's died which in some households an uncle is a fatheheI r and I get it he never was focused on his tasks at hand so never gave himself a shot at success, but his talent and capabilities are undeniable and obvious if his mind is right he could be a steal for a team in a yr or 2maybe but it's going to take patience and willingness from a team but if his focus and effort are there it's a no brainier for a coach who likes coaching QBs with talent and it's just the type of thing in Payton's wheelhouse because he holds and keeps players accountable for their craft exactly what Russell needs and hope he gets!

Lot of baggage with Russell.
Would like to see what San Diego is giving away first.
We do well with their used player sales lot.

A guy I like is Zac Dysert from Miami Ohio, he is projected to go in the 5th or 6th.

He'll move up. The media just hasn't gotten around to hyping him yet.
