cornerback mike rumph is listed as doubtfulfor niners

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I saw that play. The pass was definitely behind the receiver, which is not a particularly good idea in the middle of the field....

Brooks missed more opportunities than the receivers dropped balls that could be expected to be caught
I guess then that our difference in opinion here lies in our definition of \"expected to be caught\" then.

I am beginning to wonder if any of the Saint\'s will truly have an \"A\" game this year. I thought they got paid a whole lot of money to be on their \"A\" game all the time. I guess I was wrong, is it me or was football alot better all around about 20 to 30 years ago. When I remember back to those days, I seem to remember alot more of the players busting a@@ to make plays, even when they were out of shape or hung over. What\'s up with the players today, no heart, that\'s what\'s up and remember to have to have a heart to live!

Just went back and watched the play. You are correct, sir, it did not hit his body. But it was catchable, hell he was trying to catch it, not knock it down- his arms were curdled to make the catch. Bad throw, but third and seven, Horn would have caught that, easy.

Back to the topic,

Any of us feel like McCarthy will be able to exploit a back-up CB?

Or that Venturi will be able to exploit a back-up QB and Back-up Center?

I guess this is actually a scenario where I feel injuries DON\'T matter.

Yeah, probably. It\'s one thing if your QB is hit while he throws or running for his life - in that case, if the ball is anywhere near you as a WR, you\'ve got to make that play. On the other hand, if you\'re running down field open by two yards in the NFL and your QB has time to step and throw, I think the onis is on the QB to put the ball in a place where the WR doesn\'t have to sellout just to get a hand on th ball. When guys are open, Brooks has to hit them. I didn\'t see a ton of good throws last week.

That\'s not to say the game was Brooks\' fault. Not at all. This one definitely has to lie at the feet of the offense though. The D allowed only 21 to one of the best offenses in the league, and much of those points came against a flat worn out defense.

On the other hand, our offense couldn\'t do much against a suspect defense. Everyone on O played poorly. I don\'t put this one on AB - his play was not better or worse than the rest of those bums.

every thread leads to brooks... LMAO. Get a life people. I think that this cb that is out doesn\'t mean our WR will have a great game. Just means that if we are beating them why throw it??? so means they will have a quiet game is all...
