I was thinking the same thing, it's going to be a tight shirt. Loomis is going to be a busy man cutting and signing the whole season from what it looks like from this angle.

They'll only need about 2 mil of that to sign their draft class. It's ok.

3.1 mill hmmm. then restructure one or two players? we might have some room to do some thing if needed. we are always good with creative contracts

Any OLB available?

For comparison:
Bucs: $19 million under
Panthers: $5.28 million under
Saints: $3.1 million under
Falcons: $2.18 million under

So the Bucs have plenty of room and the Panthers are square. Saints are pretty close and probably should be okay with maybe a restructure or two. Falcons need to do a little work.

I'm thinkin' Brees is the sleeper restructurer (yes, new word) should someone fantastic come our way.

They also need some cap room going into the season, so that they can bring in someone if they face lots of injuries on a specific position.

We only have five draftees and no second rounder. Chances are that the total cap hit for this season won't be any greater than $1.5m, so that leaves enough to pick up a couple of vets at minimum.

Loomis likes to keep a little nest egg for when the season starts and has room to sign players if some one goes down.
I agree with Guido that 1.5 mill should sign the rookies. This leaves him room to start signing players when the cuts start coming. We will be monitoring the waiver wire closely.
I think we'll be alright. Still, I don't anticipate touching Drews contract this year. We're in it too deep.
