Agree Lee, I just don't understand all the "I'm gonna temper my enthusiasm until we see results" crap that I sometimes see.

WTF???

Why would anyone want to temper enthusiasm for the upcoming season? Hell even if we traded Drew friggin Brees I'd still be excited and enthused about the upcoming season. Its our New Orleans Saints!!!

I'm practically giddy about seeing how the new defense plays, how Junior and Wilson and Butler play at their new positions, how Lewis and Greer do in man coverage, how the rookies look, if Chase and Reddick make the team, how much Morgan progresses, how Toon looks after a redshirt year, how Watson looks at TE, how Cadet, White, IAQ, Hicks and Jones have progressed, how Brown looks at LT, and about 100 other things.

I'm convinced that if you say you're gonna wait before you get excitied, you're lying. So just stop.

LB's should be a really good battle in training camp. I just hope it's athleticism over favoritism.

I picked the OLB option; we have now found ourselves with a bunch of LB talent... Excited to see what happens with all of them...

I'll also be curious as to which LB's play which positions.

I could see Martez winning one of the inside spots, I've heard some suggest Junior could play the SILB psoition since it doesn't require the coverage abilities the WILB spot does, Hawthorne could play 3 of the 4 spots as could Butler.

It wold not surprise me one bit to see our LB's end up as this strange looking combo, or some other weird combo we don't expect.

WOLB-Galette
WILB-Vilma
SILB-Wilson
SOLB-Butler

been a fan since day of this team my friend and i have been through a whole lot worse.

But the window is closing on us. 3 maybe 4 years left for this offense to do it agin. The defense is well what ever in all honesty. in an ideal world above 2oth ranking would be great. so about average will do with this core of offense players and Drew.

They were not bad before Spags and they will not be bad after Spags. Attacking puts them right back were they were before, simple nothing more. 34 or 43 it would not matter. This defense will bounce back as long as they attack and monkey can direct that comeback Now lets see what how creative personnel use is and half time adjustments work out

Now to panic and risk the offense over last year is silly in my book. the defensive personnel was not that bad. I did not panic all year as it tanked i put the blame right were it belonged Spags.

I always had the faith and did not panic unlike so many.

how can i be optimistic over something i never thought needed to drastic overhaul?

so i am more optimistic than most.

Now this one I will disagree with. Winning that first SB is the hardest.. Just ask Atlanta..

After you have 1, you know what it is supposed to look like, and what formulas get you there. Drew retiring will not be the end of our hope... The man that put together the team of 2009 is with us for a while and he knows how to do it again. If you are worried about the "after Sean Payton", era, look at it this way... Which top NFL coaches were trying to come to NO before 2006... How many top coaches do you think will want to come to NO to coach after Payton?
