It really wasn't our time regardless of what Bum did or didn't do. The weird dark mojo was upon us then and wasn't going to leave quickly. The fact that Ronde was nanny to the Manning boys before becoming a defensive back isn't well known, but would probably affect his play in the Dome. It's time he hit the announcer's booth, especially if he can dress as nattily as his brother.

At least Bum was good for a laugh during those dark days.

I would get tired of hearing his stories from World War II.

had some kind of pre-mature aging illness. But STABLER???? I didnt
like Stabler when he was an Oiler.

I hate to think "what if," but what if Bum hadnt made that move, and we had THAT defense, our solid running game, Morten Andersen, AND Archie at the top of his game with his experience? We should have
been a top tier NFC team. Instead we wobble through with The Snake,
Richard Todd, and Dave freakin Wilson. (and People who trash Bobby either forget, or arent aware of what we lived through between Archie and him. Bobby at one time represented the best chance we ever had.)

JP, its great chatting to an old schooler like yourself. I hope we can always preserve the proper love Archie Manning deserves here. To be
honest, I root for Peyton and Eli to this day, unless they're playing against us. cant help it.

But I digress.
I'd take Ronde. Im nearly 50, so 38 doesnt sound old to me. Hell, I
could still run until about a year ago.

Damn you're old.

You got that right. Steve Gleason's block wouldnt happen for 22 more years. Thats the moment The Curse left us. I dont know about the rest of the Dome, but sitting, (or standing, rather) over the Girod St. Endzone, you could feel it.

My favorite Bum-ism is after he passed a physical. "Well, if I
drop dead tomorrow, at least I'll know I died in good health."

The best Bum saying is that he always takes the wife with him to road games because she was too ugly to kiss goodbye.
