Shifting Schemes: New Orleans Saints Switch to 3-4

Now that the NFL Draft is over and free agency, for the most part, has run its course, we can now start looking at the defenses in transition and how these new schemes will impact IDP leagues in 2013. I’ve already looked at the Browns and Cowboys, now we turn our attention to the Saints. New Orleans hired defensive coordinator, Rob Ryan, who has run 3-4 schemes in the past and will install one in New Orleans.

individual defensive player

fantasy football leagues into the entire game and not just offense have these players.

Here we have joesams keepers league that had to have defense listed by players not just a team unit. joe would have had it no other way.

I like it because it forces you to follow defensive players all around the NFL.

Good point why does everyone have him at OLB all of a sudden? 34 DE seems to be the best fit for him IMO

Gallette was mentioned by name and nothing else. Junyah is going to surprise a lot of folks who don't follow the Saints.
Overall, the piece said the same thing we do on the bng board.

No, we might be screwed if will smith were a starting olb, but as a backup coming in only on certain downs, I believe he could be very beneficial.

Yep, since its way too costly to cut him, he can best serve us by being used on certain defensive packages. I think he did OK when he slid inside on some of GW's packages. But OLB??? I'm not buying into that unless he drops about 15-20 pounds to improve his agility and speed.

Either way, he and Harper are way overpaid for the scheme we will now use. It should be their last year for both, although Harper is a good candidate to renegotiate. Smith... not so much.

It would not shock me to see both of their salaries released on the final cut.
