New Orleans Saints: Can WR Lance Moore Follow Up 2012 Season?
 

One New Orleans Saints‘ player who had a good season amidst a bad season for the team in 2012, was wide receiver Lance Moore. The seven-year veteran racked up a career high 1,041 yards receiving, while averaging 16.0 yards per catch. Now, going into his eighth year in the league, Moore realizes that his role on the team is changing.


“It’s funny because I am the oldest, the guy that has been in the league the longest of the receivers. So it’s funny to look at me like the old guy, but I still have a lot of ball left in me. Marques Colston, Courtney Roby and myself are doing what we can to bring the younger guys along. We have some younger guys coming in as well, we have a pretty good group,” said Moore.

One of the young guys Moore will be mentoring, is former Wisconsin standout Nick Toon. The Saints’ fourth round pick a year ago, unfortunately had his rookie season end, before it began. He’s now fully recovered from the foot injury that sidelined him, and without question, he’s the most intriguing young Saints’ receiver to watch in 2013.

Moore, Colston, and Roby are the only receivers on the roster with at least three years experience. So overall, it’s a very inexperienced group of receivers in New Orleans.

It will be challenging for Moore to get back his 2012 level of production, but I think he can do it. He’s said that even though he’s now one of the older guys on the team, that he still has it. He’s set to turn 30 in August, but he should still be productive for several more years. Especially, with Drew Brees tossing him the football.

He will have another season full of beautiful catches and cool looking celebrations. The man certainly has style! He is another one of those free agents that worked hard and was brought up from the practice squad.
Once again, I've got to say I love me some Lance Moore. :razz:

Love me some Lance Moore!! I miss those old, local furniture commercials he and PT23 used to do. They were terrible, but I loved em anyway!!

I'm still pulling for Andy Tanner. Showed some flash in a VERY crouded field.
No different this season. Toon back from injury(supposedly), Joe Morgan, Hakeem, Chris Givens...
It may be tough for Moore to get back to 1,000 if there ends up being 30/30 play balance.
If we keep jacking up 40 passes a game, he just might get there again.
