OT Brown injury in the weight room...

1 Attachment(s)
Charles Brown sustained an injury in the weight room. Payton didn't want elaborate.

Larry Holdeer ‏@LarryHoldr 3m

News Orleans Saints offensive tackle Charles Brown is starting the 2013 season much like he finished 2012. Brown was held out of practice Thursday, instead doing drills on the sideline with trainers.

Jason Smith started in his place during Thursday's practice.

Saints Coach Sean Payton didn't specify as to the nature of Brown's injury, only saying that it occurred in the weight room during the offseason.

Re: OT Brown injury in the weight room...

Saints LT Charles Brown (undisclosed) did not participate in OTAs this week.
Brown suffered a "little injury while weightlifting." He was working on the sidelines with a trainer on Thursday, and coach Sean Payton stressed the injury is "nothing significant." Brown is expected to get the first crack at the starting left tackle spot, but Jason Smith worked with the ones in his absence. May. 23 - 1:10 pm et

"nothing significant."

Are we gonna cry the sky is falling everytime one of our players gets a minor boo-boo?

Danno; I understand your point. That being said, one "nothing significant" injury was later determined to be a sports hernia which required surgery to our starting TE. Just saying...

Crap! A sports hernia was my first thought when I read this. I've had one for over twenty years now and getting ready for another surgery.......those damn things can really be pesky.

The mind is willing but the flesh is weak.

Overreact much?

Coach Payton said it was insignificant.

Exactly. I tend to be optimistic about things, but it's hard with this guy. He seems to be constantly hurt. And as already mentioned, Payton saying it's insignificant means nothing whatsoever to me.

Hope I'm wrong...

Leaning more towards Danno's idea that it's early and the full nature of the injury hasn't been disclosed...

...But, this is Charlie Brown, and he's got a Mr. Glass Rep so it's valid to ask the question "Again?"

Re: OT Brown injury in the weight room...

No wonder he's injured?!? Disregard Previous Post...

Look at the muscle definition, or lack thereof, in his legs!!!

Coach Payton wasn't kidding when he said he's been up at night - Coach is gonna have to borrow some of Drew's Nyquil !!!

It's just rare for an oft-injured player to suddenly become and stay healthy in the NFL. It's a brutal game. The bigger problem is at his best when he's been healthy, he's exhibited average talent at best.

He got his feeling hurt when Payton told him he's not going to make the team.

look i may kid about it but we can not start having OL dropping this early in season. this aint good.

Anytime injury and Brown are used in the same sentence all ears perk up.

I like the risk pick when we took him. now i want the pope here to bless him.

This should not come as surprise, but it's only May. If July comes around and he's still on the side licking his nuts then it's time to cut his fat arse.

If he can play, let him play. I never understood why people hate on somebody
for getting hurt. Lets see your fat butt play in the NFL and not get hurt.

We need depth... and we need it soon.

we need one last big crawfish boil this season, thats what we need.
everybody smile and have a happy MD...
