Damn this is a rough crowd. Nearly 1/2 of the breaking news we learn of comes from someones twitter account.

Personally I have difficulty differentiating between social media.. Social forums, social Twitter.... Its ok to be on one, not ok to be on another? Not really ours to judge, we do not pay the man, he doesn't work for us and we do not know him personally. His reasons are his reasons.

That being said, if momma bird being on Twitter keeps the fledglings mindful of what they proclaim in public, I am all for it.

Hated engaging, acknowledging gossip; but today, you have neutralize same before it takes a life of its own...

Don't believe Coach Payton is self-absorbed; he's a real, genuine guy which is why he's one of South Louisiana's Favorite Sons...

And I identify using any shared media to stay in touch with your children with his personal circumstances as he's stated...

But, you're right that it's another direct outlet for news, and that part is a good thing...

It's just the noise from the Beebers and Kardashians; and how the paparazzi goes out of their way to create a market to make these folks relevant...

Thus far twitter is the last bastion of social media that is free from advertisement (at least in my app), if i chose not to follow the Kardashians I don't have to hear about their crap.

Certain people tweet breaking news before the article comes out on a web site.

Like with most things, it is not the tool that is the issue, it is how it is used.

Galette is a confused fellow. He's all emotion and high-strung. He's entertaining, I'll give you that.

Regarding Payton; signing up for Twitter is something that I can see Rob Ryan doing. Not Payton.
Maybe the year away from the NFL really has changed him. I like the old curmudgeon personality. It seems befitting of a Head Coach. Hating the media and being pissed off all the time is supposed to be in their nature.

Oh well. Truth is, I'm being hypocritical. As soon as I found out that Sean Payton was on Twitter I followed him. I'm not a big Twitter guy but if I have a little down time and nothing better to do I'll open it up and see what people like that nutty Galette character are up to. As a side note, I worry that he'll be the next ex-NFLer to spend all of his money and end up destitute.

Yup. And who is to say he didn't join to follow what his players and others are saying. Not everyone on twitter tweets. It is an incredible source of up to the second news. It has revolutionized news sharing.
