Re: Victor Butler has tore his ACL

I think an ACL injury that only takes a few weeks would be like a strain or something that didn't need surgery. From what I have read this is a tear (not sure if partial or complete) and will need surgery, so I expect it would be in the months category, I guess it just depends on how many months if he will get any playing time this season or not.

Nope, wasn't there (thank the lord, my wife would have beat me around the head and neck area for a while). I used it in 2009.

I am of the mind that there is a slim chance having had her as my avatar in 2009 brought us a championship. So.... Lets do it again!

It would've been worth it though...

If you or I had this we would be going to rehab down the road for 6 months, with the hyperbaric chambers etc NFl players recover faster.

Here is a time frame for a major tear. RG III had surgery on Jan 9th to repair both his LCL and ACL he was back at practice by May 23rd.. 4 months and 3 weeks later. Mind you this was the second time he has torn his ACL, the way I understand it every time you tear it, it is worse.
"He took snaps under center, made throws to his receivers and even briskly jogged between drills while sporting a bulky knee brace. "

Re: Victor Butler has tore his ACL

RGIII's ultra motivated and practically an athlete in a class of his own. Not everyone is convinced that his quick return is the best thing for him to do. There's a whole bunch we don't know about Butler's injury yet. It'd be great to see him this season, but I think we'll still be okay if we don't.

Its not muscular, so it has little to do with being an athlete or strength or conditioning. It is more about personal healing speed and providing the right environment for a speedy recovery.

Adrien Peterson - ACL and MCL I am trying to find his surgery to practice time period.

That's right, I remember AP coming back way ahead of schedule too. How badly does Butler want it? I'm waiting for jeanpierre's next depth chart now.

I believe the normal time period for recovery is 6 months, I think AP was running after 3 months so his recovery time was very good

Brees played through an ACL injury in 2010, when he tore it in week 3 vs falcons

Re: Victor Butler has torn his ACL

Adrian Peterson is an extreme example. I wouldn't go counting on that kind of healing time for Butler. I do think we could see him on PUP and coming back around week 10. That would be almost 6 months from the injury.
