I wish we would sign TO or Moss

I know he(TO) has a bad reputation...........but so did Jeremy Shockey. And we traded for him anyways. Shockey was well behaved with us until after he was let go.

But honestly TO can beat any defense in our division. And having him and Graham as our two big physical threats with a guy like Brees who can toss to Sproles or throw to Colston or Moore would cause defenses problems. I'd rather we score 50 a week than worry about our defense not performing due to injuries.

But what has Moss done wrong to not deserve a shot? SF didnt use him right. I don't think Moss couldnt handle being a no.1 WR anymore. SF only used him on certain occasions and that was why he didnt play well. Rusted receivers do not make the most of their targets.

Shockey was different, Coach Payton was a major reason why the giants drafted him when he was their OC - he worked with him for years and made it clear to shockey when he got here there was no time for his BS - Even brees exploded at him on the sideline when he missed a block and then gave a half assed effort to catch a pass

T.O - all you ever hear is how he would change on the right team, guess what? He's been on 6 different teams and he still hasnt changed

Moss - All i can remember is brett favre slinging a ball to a wide open moss, who purposely let the ball hit the floor due to defensive holding, if he had even made an attempt for that ball it was an easy TD, but he'd rather take a 10 yard penalty than a TD apparently

Id rather have nick toon and joe morgan than either of those guys, and toon hasnt even seen the field yet

Ok fine I'll bite

IF we trade for TO or Moss who do we cut?

Better, cheaper, younger and more non diva's out there.
But out of the 2 I'd rather Moss.

Re: I wish we would sign TO or Moss

If Colston or Moore goes down, which has happened in the past, the Saints have a bunch of street FA's and rookies who have never played a down in the NFL. TO at the vet minimum would be a great signing. Let him compete. If he has anything left, great. If not, so be it.

TO = Drama King

Moss = Drama Queen, Quitter, with diminished skills. Been done since 2009.

Are we just looking for jersey sales?

Re: I wish we would sign TO or Moss

Out of all these rookies and young receivers that we have surely one of them as is good as a couple of washed up players that are out of football. Our young receivers have a ton of upside and with playing time should be better than what those two have left to offer.

Actually I am very high on the talent we have waiting in the wings. We may have more talent at receiver than any other team. This will be one of the better position battles at training camp this year.

After watching TO get skull drug in Arena football (Allen Wranglers), I'm over these guys who are way past their prime.

I agree with you bro. They'd be less of a distraction than a bounty scandal. Plus they'd only get the vet minimum. I'd cut anyone of those UDFA WR's in a heartbeat. They aren't going to play anyway. People fall in love with these no name "gems" then they're gone in a year or two, replaced by another "gem".

Moss, TO - got no heart - None...

Did you see Moss fold last season in the post season?!?

TO? ever see him block for any teammate?!?

Pass, Pass, we've got enough talent at WR anyways...

Adding FA at Offensive Tackle and on Defense would have more impact...

No way agree with Rugby got too many young recievers with great potential and may see some slide to become real good players on another team.

Moss is done, TO is done, Chad Johnson is done.

Why would we trade for old guys who can't play anymore. The best of three is CJ, and he's done

Re: I wish we would sign TO or Moss

Ick. I loathe both of those guys. Not only are they washed up, but they don't make up for it with heart, drive or unselfishness.

I can see pulling in a guy that you know is past his prime to help the younger guys learn and be a mentor or "player - coach", but these two whiners would be a waste of money and time. All they'd do is cry and b**ch.

No thanks.

With arguably and statistically 3 of the top receivers in the NFL in the last two seasons in Colston, Moore, and Graham; why does anyone feel we need to pick through the kitty litter for the dried turds?

Those are called Kitty Jellies in this household. Coincidentally so are Moss, TO and 85...

I'm sorry, but if "The Darklord" Jerry Jones won't sign them, then that's a sign to the rest of the league that they are done......

Great litmus test. If Jones, won't sign them and Belichick has gotten rid of them.... It's a nogo.

Hopefully we stay healthy and don't need eitehr one. If we're in a good spot, someone is out due to injury, and we have room to make a roster move late in the year I could see eitehr one of them coming in and having a good game or two trying to secure a ring ala Mike McKenzie coming out of the owner's suite to play vs. New England the following week in '09.

WillSaints81 06-16-2013 08:35 AM

Re: I wish we would sign TO or Moss

The only reason I said this was because TO did well in 10 before he got hurt, he did well in Dallas and he was a distraction but he did win games in Dallas especially in 07. But yeah I guess I can see why because of all that reality show drama he has. But he was the reason Witten became the playmaker he is because teams zeroed in on TO while Witten was making plays. I guess I'm just really intimidated by Atlanta and worry that we have to keep up with Jackson.

I'm sure we would like to work one of them out, but we can't get them into the airport due to all of the baggage.

Hey while we're at it, let's sign Lynn Swann as well. He's 61, but he seems to be in good shape. LOL.

Obviously you never followed T.O. all that closely, or you'd never question his heart or work ethic. Of all the MANY negative things that can be said about T.O., those 2 items aren't on the list.

Wouldn't want Moss, but would be ok with them kicking the tires on T.O. Big, strong WR...still in great shape....fiery competitor....I'd have no problem bringing him in like Seattle did, just to see if it would pan out. Last preseason in Seattle, my understanding is that it was basically out of him and Braylon Edwards for that last spot.....and T.O. had made some nice catches, but also dropped a wide-open TD pass from Matt Flynn in one of the last preseason games. Whereas Edwards had been consistently impressive throughout camp and preseason. These days you can pretty much sign anybody without a dime of guaranteed money, right?

Ok lets bring in T.O.
Do you really want that guy in middle December talking to the media complaining on how he
1. Doesn't get the ball
2. nobody listens to him
3. Doesn't get the ball
4. Throwing the entire staff under the bus when we drop a game

I don't question they have talent but thier mouths and reputation far exceed thier talent these days. Simply not worth it IMO

Again great talent no doubt just dont want everything else that comes with it. I'd rather have Tebow....
