The Saints are the most inconsistent team in the NFL. Although they beat the 49ers in Week 2, the game cost them RB Deuce McAllister (high ankle sprain) for four to five weeks. This team has a bad defense, and things could go south in a hurry.

I agree, I\'ve seen the rankings anywhere from 18th to 24th depending on what site you get your information from and the Saint\'s are bottom third right now, but why am I still optimistic about the outcome of the season.

I hear ya Cheramielll. I would say the reason is because your like the rest of us. We all LOVE the Saints. I\'ve been a fan since \'67 and i\'v seen the good, the bad, and the ugly with this team. But i\'ll never give up on them cause I bleed Black and Gold. :bandg:

Unrealistic wishful thinking in which you ignore the problems and overstate the strengths of this team. It\'s call BillyC syndrome, and those who have it are often called Sunshiners. Don\'t worry, a 7-9 season or two will probably cure you. See the last two years of this board for a history of the illness.

Been a fan for 37 years now and they have\'nt beatin the spirit out of me yet and I think the only time I will lose the spirit is when the lay me in my grave face down, so all the Saint\'s can kiss my cold dead butt, that\'s only if they don\'t win at least one superbowl before I kick it.

Gator, you just refuse to let it go huh? Man you sound very very bitter. Do optimistic Saint fans really disturb you that much to harp on it incessantly? I don\'t recall anyone quitting though.

If we all just say \"you were right dude, way to go, you\'re the greatest ever, I want a bronze statue of you\" will you freakin let it go?

The rankings have us about where we should be. If we start winning we\'ll move up, if we lose we\'ll stay or drop.
