Archie Manning was under rated, if he would have had lets say any type of O-line and receivers I think he would have been one of the greatest to play the game. He took so many sacks each year it was pathetic, and still got up and played, and he played when football was football not this don't hit the qb. to hard or slide crap.

Underrated...

Hokie Gajan, seems nobody outside Louisiana has ever heard of him.

Players we all know but players that fans seem to know little about
Derland Moore
Tom Myers
George Rogers
Tony Galbreath
Brad Edelman
Jake Kupp
Hoby Brenner

The men that made the dome patrol

Coach Steve Sidwell

The DL
Wayne Martin
Frank Warren
Jim Wilks
Bruce Clark
La'Roi Glover

The players that benefited from both
Sammy Knight
Dave Waymer

gotta add these two
Al Hirt
Bernard "Buddy" Diliberto - the man behind the bag

Rickey Jackson is still underrated IMO despite the recognition he has received. If he played for a big market popular team like the Cowboys he would be in top LB of all time discussions, but he is almost always left out. Lawrence Taylor is the only person I know of that truly appreciated his skills.

When Buford was assigned to block somebody they went down. He didn't just block them, he took them down.

Great list. Don't forget Joe Fed., Dave Rowe, Tony Baker and Al Dodd.

Wayne Martin

This is one guy I never thought got enough credit outside of New Orleans. Just quietly went about being a damn good defensive lineman.

Vince Buck was a really good player for a few years. He was a turnover machine and a good punt returner too. First guy I thought of.

Others that come to mind (underrated):

Tyrone Hughes - still holds some all-purpose yardage records, IIRC
Quinn Early - one of my favorites all-time, Lance Moore reminds me of him quite a bit
Jim Dombrowski - rock solid player who never got credit he deserved
Jerry Fontenot - see Dombrowski
Floyd Turner - IMO was well on his way to becoming a star before that gruesome broken leg. Never was the same player after that.

Overrated:
Bobby Hebert - not half as tough as people remember and held the team back quite a bit, I always thought
Darren Howard - He just wasn't that good on a consistent, year to year basis.
Will Smith - see Darren Howard
Kyle Turley - one decent year as a right tackle, he sucked otherwise.
Dalton Hilliard - gonna catch heat for this one. He had one very good year where he scored some crazy amount of touchdowns and had a ton of rushing and receiving yards, but other than that was pretty average.
