5 Bold Predictions for The UpComing Season

I. Rob Ryan constructs a beautiful symphony of chaos defensively. Saints have a Top 10 Defense. 4th in the League in Turnovers.

II. Mark Ingrams breakout Season ... Right On Time

III. Jimmy Grahams Dominant Streak of Consecutive Games With a TD Begins

IV. Rufus Johnson the next Aldon Smith

V. Kenny Stills Immediate Impact. Cover one or two of us but not all ... Stills reminds me of a more consistent Desean Jackson.

I'm excited to see what our D looks like, but man wouldn't it be great if Rufus Johnson gets in on the rotation and causes some havoc

More commitment to the running game, less predictability will make Mark Ingram alot more successful

I'm not sure about kenny stills until training camp, I've heard he had trouble with concentration and drops easy passes (they also said that about joe morgan though)

I have high hopes for Johnson and Stills, too. We made solid picks at both of those points in the draft, & I believe that the ball is definitely in their court with the pressure on them to utilize their talents and contribute. I'm curious about which side best suits Johnson's skill set. He has that "Demarcus Ware" build, which would lead me to believe that he would be in line for the same spot as Smith & Galette.

I'll drink to that.

1. Every time Ingram gets stuffed behind the line by 3 defenders the IRvory fans will scream bust.

2. Every time a CB gets beat deep, 3 or more posters will blame Roman Harper.

3. When Harper does eventually get beaten (as does every safety in the NFL), 3 or more posters will say, "see I told you he can't cover".

4. When our offense stalls with 5 straight 3 & outs and commits 4 turnovers and we lose by a FG, 3 or more posters will blame the defense.

5. No one is gonna say, I wish we had kept Shanle.

Here's mine:

Ingram accounts for 12+ touchdowns.

Morgan becomes a 1,000 yard receiver.

Junior Galette breaks out and becomes one of the best pass rushers in the league.

Darren Sproles leads the league in all purpose yards.

Jimmy Graham shatters all single season records for TE's.

Re: 5 Bold Predictions for The UpComing Season

1 OT injury door continues so OG are forced to support OT asking OC to do to much. Saints forced into max protection on passing downs way too much. RB pay the price with an average season. Rookie starting LOT and a washed up former first rounder at ROT surprises everyone by season end.

2 WR and TE once again carry the team and some depth questions in the past start to get answered, future looks goods for the first time in years

3 Defense perform so so. DL looks to have hope, OLB exposed for not enough well rounded players. ILB play is ok but new young talent is needed. Secondary shows the most improvement and solid depth. saints end up rank 20th on defense. Ryan gets a C+ for coaching. buys him another year and another offseason were defense rules

4 Special teams become among the leagues best. The overall depth upgrade really shows here. Fans fall in love with the coffin corner kick once again after years without it. Saints kicking game get back on track. new kicker or not the nightmare ends in 2013. shanks cut back 90%

5 Sean Payton proves he is worth every penny he is paid and still have the saints in the playoff hunt in the end and a shot at winning the division

This. Especially #4.

Our defense won't be top 10, but hopefully we can be top 10 in turnovers.

I'm cautiously optimistic about the defense this season. I expect improvement, but not top 10 improvement. I just don't know how our guys will pick it up.

A defense in the #18-23 range and we are serious contenders in the postseason

Re: 5 Bold Predictions for The UpComing Season

1. Saints will go 13-3 and win the SB.
2. Martez Wilson will have 10 sacks. So will Junior Galette.
3. Pat Robinson will be starting at CB by mid-season.
4. That 9/30 home game against the Dolphins will make 62-7 look like they were taking it easy on them.
5. Ingram will run for 800 yards.

Boutte 06-28-2013 03:08 PM

Re: 5 Bold Predictions for The UpComing Season

1 Saints will not have five straight three and outs.

2 People will grumble about our horrible O tackles just like they have for the last 8 years but we'll still be near the top of the league for fewest sacks allowed.

3 PT will still be our best back but Ingram will still get more carries.

4 Going into next years draft we'll still be looking for a standout pass rusher.

5 A rookie running back will come out of the woodwork to challenge for playing time.

Re: 5 Bold Predictions for The UpComing Season

1. Halo will pay for all our opinions.
2. The NFL will bar pink kits, except for Atlanta, where red goes to die.
3. Refs will call every incidence of holding. This will add 1 hour to each game and reduce scoring by half.
4. Boild crawfish will be shown to reduce effects of head trauma.
5. There will be an additional parade during Mardi Gras 2014.

There is way too much homer going on in here.

1. Rob Ryan is mostly talk. I will believe it when I see it

2. Ingram is a bust.

3. JG may be the closest thing to accuracy by the OP but I get the feeling he has become a lttle gun shy

4. Rufus will not see that much playing time this season unless our LB corp is all injured

5. Kenny Stills will see less playing time than Rufus

Geez.

Re: 5 Bold Predictions for The UpComing Season

I can only be optimistic about the defense simply because it can't get any worse. If nothing else happens this year at least we can be entertained by the growth of the new D.

Pierre, like always, will show that he is and always really has been the starting RB.

I think Stills will play, but he's not gonna be an immediate impact player. I see him progressing well as the season unfolds.

Drew will throw way less interceptions.

Re: 5 Bold Predictions for The UpComing Season

We will have the number one defense and offense in the NFL and the D will produce the most turnovers in the League

Brees will throw for 6k yds, lead the league in TDs, and throw 0 interceptions.

Ingram will break the 2500 yd mark by mid season.

Kenny Stills decapatates Matt Ryan.

We blow out every team in the playoffs and the SB

We all win 40 million dollars

Re: 5 Bold Predictions for The UpComing Season

1. Late October we will all be sitting here backslapping each other about the defense
2. The Ryan defense will get back into that thing of, making a handful of plays AT THE RIGHT TIME
3. Jimmy Graham runs wild, breaks all kinds of records at his position
4. I predict Sean Payton drives opponents absolutely CRAZY with the trick plays, fake punts, gadget plays, taking time outs just to yell at refs, the game-planning craziness, mismatches, touchdown passes to fullbacks, tackle eligible, flea flicker, etc. etc. We will all be laughing in the stands, watching the mad scientist back at work
5. I don't like to talk smack, and I know this flies against all logic, I know that people like to say that division games are supposed to be close -- but I FIRMLY believe that the Falcons opener is gonna be a complete total shellacking, the birds will be roasted. It will be one of those textbook Payton games for the AGES, like New England in '09, the Cowboys in '08, the Colts, or the various times we've stomped the Giants. My reason is that I just think it's a classic matchup of an over rated, over confident team with self-doubts (Falcons), going against an under rated, hungry team with confidence and swagger (Saints), and I think the Falcons' weaknesses will be EXPOSED. I have a feeling in my bones, in my gut, this one's not even gonna be close! Too many things in our favor. Plus we're overdue -- it's been a while since Payton and the Saints put a complete textbook nationwide a-whupping on an opponent who was supposed to be the bees knees. I think Sean Payton is determined to put himself back on the coaching map in a big way, starting Week 1. Not just a win, but a win that people will be talking about all week. Like when we beat them so bad in 2007 that their coach quit.
