The New Orleans Saints will host free-agent wide receiver Laurent Robinson on Monday, according to a league source. With injuries to Marques Colston and Joe Morgan, the Saints depth chart has shrunk a bit during training camp.

Morgan sustained an injury on the fourth play of Saturday's Black and Gold scrimmage. Coach Sean Payton wouldn't elaborate on the injury. A visit from Robinson so quickly could indicate that Morgan may miss some time with his injury.

Robinson, 28, spent last season with Jacksonville where he only caught 24 passes for 252 yards and no touchdowns. The six-year veteran had his biggest season with Dallas in 2011 with 58 catches for 858 yards and 11 TDs.
The 6-foot-2 speedy wideout reportedly worked out for Miami and San Francisco within the past week.

if he can stay healthy he is a great addition but he will end up on IR by seasons end. so maybe we play the fill in for pup and IR when PUP gets back

i don't see the need for him... Toon and Stills are going to be great additions and he wont make the final roster. Doesn't hurt to look I guess.

Only that Robinson has achieved more in the nfl than toon and stills combined. Hagan is right on this one.

Crap crappity crap crap!!! I did not want to here that Colston is having more problems.
If it was just Morgan I would feel,ok with Toon & Stills. Obviously something is going in that makes them want to have some insurance.

9 Games missed with concussion last year,not sure i like the idea of this.Id rather see Brandon Lloyd on a cheap one year deal.

Brandon Lloyd could be an AWESOME addition to the Saints...

His asking price is probably high, though I couldn't fault him as he generally a quiet soldier and and consistent producer...

I vaguely remember Robinson while with the Cows a few years back .. if I'm not mistaken he made a name for himself after Miles went down with a hammy & played well. One good productive season but fell off the map in Jacksonville.

I guess it wouldn't hurt to take a look at him though.

Pretty easy to fall off the map when you're playing for a team without a QB.

I agree but he hasnt been getting many offers so far.
A year with the Saints would potentially open him up to a big contract next year,better than going to a team like the Jags/Ravens and playing with a subpar-average QB for more money.
