cant really argue with the rankings since the season that led up to the SB berth was put into account.

But I believe outside of Tampa Bay and New Orleans, most every other team of the last 10-15 years should of not even been Top 15 or Top 20. Thats how I feel about the Conference Winners and SB winners of the last 10-15 years after John Elway Retired.

Free agency and the salary cap have certainly leveled the playing field. You no longer have 2 or 3 teams with 50% of the best players in the league on their roster. Now you don't have 1 team in the Superbowl with 3 times as much talent as the other team.

Don't agree with Chiefs ranking and this guy has the 80s 49ers teams in the wrong order, besides that a pretty good list. I'm sure there are worse ones like this one floating around the web

Didn't think I'd see the Saints that high on the list (11) since its the "in" thing in the media to discredit and slam anything positive about the team due to last offseason

Nothing illegal was done, no cheating happened. Punishments were vacated.

With coach coming back, I'm sure it will be brought up at least 5 times a game, if Buck is in the booth I'd put the over/under at 10

Agreed. I hope people remember that last December, former NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue had to be appointed to hear the player appeals and vacated all of the players' suspensions.

Also, before Tags took over the reigns in the appeals process, an impartial committee of former NFL coaches and players found there was no evidence of a bounty scheme and vacated the suspensions for a month before Goodell re-applied the suspensions without cause or factual proof whatsoever. Bountygate was one of the worst unilateral abuses of power by a commissioner ever in the history of professional sports.

It has but I have questioned do fans of the game really believe the best team has gone to the SB from each conference in the last 10-15 years? Look at last year, if not for the crappy officiating, I firmly believe we would of saw an entirely different SB picture, god knows who from the NFC vs most likely Denver or NE. It wouldnt of been Atl or San Fran from the NFC side either I dont think.

To me this is how much of this game has been altered over the past few years.

Officiating sucked for everyone. Getting to the SB is only about 50% how good the team is, the remaining 50% is health, coaching, and luck.

The "best team" doesn't always win on Sunday either.... Quite often the long shot or underdog succeeds in getting into the championship, it's the nature of sports. Baseball, NASCAR, bowling... They all have Cinderella stories.

We finished the season 13-3 before bounty gate happened. It's unlikely but possible we would have had another ring.
