Gregg Williams on LB Ramon Humber

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I thought this little quote about Humber was interesting... From Mike Deilliers article Sunday... I thought this little quote about Humber was interesting...
From Mike Deilliers article Sunday...

I remember when we were doing a radio interview on WWL-870 with then-defensive coordinator Gregg Williams and him making a comment about Humber off the air. “If that kid (Humber) ever figures it out and understands this game better he is going to be a heat-seeking missile out on the field. He doesn’t have the feel for the game or the instincts London Fletcher has, but he has those same loud “wack” type hits out on the field. That guy comes to play hard every time he hits the field.”

That was the PG version. But Humber certainly looks as though the football bulb has been lit for him.

I know its early but he is making a real good case to start. If he is better than his competition he should, it might make them play hard also.

Started noticing humber in 2011, he looks to have great speed and he's a great tackler

I think he could be starting at some point, if hawthorne doesnt step up it could be lofton and humber in the middle

That light bulb.... If you've ever had a moment of clarity you'll understand.... It doesn't need time once it's on. Going from the dusky room to full blown halogen takes a person up 4 levels.

Brees, Brady, Manning, Rodgers all "get it", the rest are still trying to find it. "It" is what separates great from good.

Makes plays. Always around the ball. From what I've seen, the light is on and burning bright.

I have always thought he looked like a player out there. Really, all he needs is some playing time. I think we could cut Vilma and not miss a beat with a Lofton/Hawthorne/Humber/Herring group in the middle.

Swap Herring for Reddick and I'm sold.
