I hope your right, TP reporters are convinced this means we will be running 4-3 again more than 3-4

Guys on this forum scoffed at me when I suggested we should go back to a 4-3 now that we have so much talent on the DL. I see Larry Holder tweeting the same thing now.

Didn't you know, there is only one opinion allowed on this forum... I am sure you will be told to "quit yammering" and will be educated shortly.

Its been documented that we're gonna run both. The 3-4 will be our base set, which Ryan said we'll run less than 50% of the time.

Its true we have more d-line talent now, but I think it still fits a 3-4 better.

Jordan, Bunkley, Hicks, JJenkins, Foster all look better suited for a 3-4. Lofton and Vilma now appear a step too slow to play that 4-3MLB and would probably benefit from splitting the field.

Why sign Haralson if we plan to go back to a 43...

The times we have run a 43 in the preseason we got beat all day long. Our best line-up now is suited for the 34. When Wilson and Galette finally hit the field against ATL we will surprise a lot of teams, hell from what I have heard about Haralson he could be a pro-bowler.

In the preseason we had the 2nd ranked run D, and the 8th ranked total D. Consider we did that without our 3 best OLBs on the field, but keep letting the media and others focus on last year... CANT WAIT!

It's easier finding 34 Defensive Linemen (though what we have in both Bunkley and Jenkins is rare) than finding four dynamic linemen (really need a rotation of six)...

Dead on about splitting the middle of the field for the MLB, though i've concerns about them engaging/disengaging "active" offensive guards...

But how we didn't draft and make moves to acquire at least one-two more OLB (i.e. Alec Ogletree, Jaime Collins, Jarvis Jones) when transitioning to a 34 is beyond me...

Though I've been a big critic, I didn't like seeing Will Smith injured (though I won a pool that he wouldn't start Week 1) and would have liked him back at DE rotating with Cam Jordan at the 5-tech...

Unless it were someone young like Alec Ogletree or an unsuspended Von Miller, I really don't want to see Ingram geaux not having a proven MotorBack to convert those short yardage gains for us...

Well we had Butler, Galette, Wilson, Smith, and then drafted Rufus in the 6th, and signed several as UDFA's. Thats plenty of moves. And then trade for Haralson. How can anyone complain about that?

No one can plan on losing 1/2 your projected starters to injuries before training camp is even over.

No one can complain about picking Vaccaro, Armstead, and Jenkins with our 1st three picks.

3-4, 4-3, 2-3, 1-5, doesn't matter. There's going to be plenty of everything.

Back in 2010, I analyzed the season opener against the Vkings. At the time we were supposedly a 4-3 base defense, but nearly half the snaps in the base defense were in a 3-4, something like 20 snaps there were just 2 linemen on the field, and a couple times on long passing downs there was just one lineman on the field with 3 linebackers and every DB on the roster.

Ryan comes from the same school of defense as GW so I think we'll see a lot of similar stuff. The only issue is we have a whole lot of young players who might have a hard time picking up on all the changes at first.
