The Defense has gone nowhere. Last Season, New Orleans ranked dead last in defense. They were horrible. Historically bad. Now they have switched to a 3-4 and haven’t had the personnel to really shine in a 3-4 quite yet.

The same historically bad defense that handed the dirty birds their first loss of the year.

The run game. Atlanta finally has a running game. Last season the saint ranks dead last in run defense. This year they switch to a system that doesn’t do very well to stop the run. I’d be shocked if Stephen Jackson didn’t get 100+ yards against New Orleans

Stephen Jackson will find out he won't be running behind the same O-line he had with the Rams!

If our d is bad then theirs arent too far ahead. Both teams got good offenses but the saints have a better o-line. It will be a pissing match.

falcons 0-4 PF 65 PA 108 in preseason is worse than even the jaguars, because they won 1. How does their amazing offence only get 65 points? easy they are over rated, and suck.
Even our mediocre defence has PA 97. Yeah, nolans a real terror, lol

Didn't the declining Brees throw for 5000 yards again last year on a team without a run game that was behind just about every game that everyone and their mother knew we were throwing. I love how people never put things in context.

We may lose this one, it wouldnt surprise me, but that was just stupid. Hopefully our D has at least improved enough to get passed that crappy O line they have. I have a feeling Ryan will be on his ass alot this year and I hope we are the ones who begin the season putting him on it.

History is on our side. Not only do the Falcons have a decently sized lead in the series, the Falcons have never lost in the season opener to the saints. In Fact, none of those games have even been close. It doesn’t really count as a reason they will win, I just like to point it out.

And while he talks about history, he failed to point out that we have won 11 out of the last 14 meetings.

The Dude is right and so is another poster. This isnt a gimme, its week 1 and almost every home team's fans except bills, jets, and chargers think they will win. All the playoff teams fans last year think they will win week 1.

Its just how it is..............we have lost not only Smith for the season but our vocal defensive leader Vilma is doubtful as well. We have been banged up on injuries and on paper we are not supposed to win this game.

Everyone seems to want somebody with a massive arm. Unless im much mistaken the rules state you need to move the chains 10yards in four plays not try hitting a home run every play.
But then to get any respect these days you need to be a runner/flashy player before fundamentaly sound.

Playing them early is a good thing. Their OL might gel but it will take some time and that's barring they don't lose anyone else. Right now, they have not shown enough IMO to even make the playoffs. And where is the depth behind Jackson.

Great RB but he'd have to be a machine the whole season. Little to no depth. They can skate on the ice a little while but when it cracks they don't have anyone at that position to pull them out of it.

OK, Jackson was a beast but hasn't been the same the last 3 years. How do you replace a 30 year old RB with another 30 year old RB and have a much improved running game behind an OL with new starters?
