Roddy White wants to make a statement against Saints

FLOWERY BRANCH – Falcons wide receiver Roddy White, who returned to practice on Wednesday, addressed the media during Thursday’s opening locker room sessions.
Here’s what he had to say: ON RETURING FROM INJURY: “It was good to get back out there with the fellas. … We need to make a statement with this game, go on the road and try to find a way to get a win’. ON IF THERE ARE ANY CONTINUITY ISSUES ON OFFENSE: “I don’t think so. When we first got to training camp and everybody got together I felt like on the first couple of days that we went out there, everything was fast. Everything was crisp. We were moving at a fast tempo and we were completing a lot of passes and things like that. It will be good if we can pick up from where we left off from the last playoff game. Just get out there and do some good things. “Just keep moving the ball around like we’ve been doing. We have a lot of playmakers on our side of the ball that can make plays. We just have to find ways just to get everybody the ball. HOW CLOSE TO 100 PERCENT HEALTHY IS THE ANKLE: “I don’t know. I don’t give out the injury report. Smitty does. Come Sunday, I’ll be ready to go. My adrenaline will be pumping and its football. Once you get out there, you just have to go play.” PLAYING VS. ROB RYAN’S 3-4: “We played against Rob a couple of times when he was down with the Oakland Raiders and with Dallas last year. We kind of know the game plan and the things we have to do. We have taken a lot from those games, the things that we did good against those guys. But they have different personnel obviously, while it’s the same defense. They throw a lot of different looks at you and things like that to try and confuse the quarterback. We just have to get out there and figure out what they are doing. We have to get bodies on bodies, block them up and let our play makers make plays.” ON PLAYING IN NEW ORLEANS: “I’m a huge fan of going down there. It’s going to be loud and crazy. We are not going to be able to hear a thing, which is going to make the game a little bit harder for us. We’ll be ready to go. … you get yourself up for that one.” WHAT’S THE BOOK ON NEW SAINTS CB KEENAN LEWIS: “I’ve been watching tape on him. He likes to play at the line of scrimmage and try to disrupt routes and things with timing and stuff like that. …We’ve played guys like that year in and year out. … We’ll be ready. We’re ready to go. Me and Jules, we probably have more trouble with the smaller, quicker guys than we do with the bigger guys.” ON HIS 128 GAME STREAK: “I never thought about it really. You just go out there and football players play football. You don’t think about whether if you’re going to miss a game or you’re going to not play or things like that. If you have the opportunity to go out there and play, you just play. I never really thought about the streak until everybody else started saying something about it. You just have to do what you’ve got to do. You have to get yourself ready to play.” ON OPENING AGAINST THE SEASON AGAINST THE SAINTS: “Yeah, it’s tough. Especially, when you have to go on the road. If we were at the Georgia Dome (that would be different). But those guys are going to be fired up. They have their head coach back. Everything is in order. Physical for him is whining about PI...or pushing off to get a deep ball. I'm really glad he is 100% playing; we know what we're getting with him...a big-mouthed whiny flopper who drops clutch passes. Tony Gonzalez, on the other hand, has me concerned ALL the time. BTW...no stupid comments or trademark arrogance in this interview means there are major doubts in his mind. Gooooood...

He did not say anything out of order.
Good interview. States respect for Saints. If a Saints ' player had said the same thing about AtlFal, cool. Reverse. In Georgia Dome, when the Saints play there, they experience the same thing as AtlFal in Superdome. :bng: |

What happened to "I don't like nothing about the Saints. The colors. The city. Nothing" Roddy is still a tool but he's sharpened his interview skills apparently.

It seems to me that there are a few people shaking their heads (me included) I was expecting trash talk, condescension and downright stupid comments but none were there. Does this mean that, in the future, Roddy White wants to leave the Falcons for the Saints because he is fed up of being without a ring and knows he won't get one there? Could it be that he has realised that sounding off the way he has done in the past may prevent this...or could it be someone has told him to be respectful or shut his mouth?

Saints in Atlanta not the same. We have a lot of fans who travel to Atlanta for the games. They don't have as many. Also Clown fans do not seem as loyal & fanatical as we are.
