He did his job, he stretched the field, giving you bigger windows to fit balls to jimmy, sproles etc. the threat of getting burned deep helps every part of this team.

Re: Two will be inactive

In his final three seasons with the Saints, Robert Meachem racked up 1,980 yards and 21 total touchdowns for averages of 660 yards and 7 touchdowns over that three year frame. That's not a bust. People like to throw around the word bust a lot.

Robert Meachem was a highly productive player over his final three seasons with the Saints.

Troy Williamson, Reggie Williams, now those are busts. Robert Meachem? Not a bust.

ok would you settle for disappointment. I would be disappointed in that production if I was paying him. considering I got 3 times that production with a 7th rounder

Just my two cents, but saying Meachem is a bust is quite a stretch. When you're in an offense where the quarterback spreads the ball around to seven or eight guys (or even nine or ten) in a game, the odds of putting up huge numbers for anyone are not great. Colston has been the beneficiary of being one of the most consistent targets year in and year out, and now you can throw Graham into that mix the last couple of years, too. Then you have Lance Moore, plus Sproles and PT out of the backfield. Meachem has had no more than 45 catches in a season, but that's not a bad number when the ball is sprayed around so much. Look at his best three years statistically as a Saint. He totaled 139 catches and pulled in 20 for a score. That's a pretty good ratio of receptions to TD's, and very respectable numbers when there are usually five guys targeted more. He may not have lived up to normal first round draft pick hype, but he's certainly been no slouch. In this offense, he's done his job.

I'll agree with you
I said bust might have been harsh
He's carved out his spot in the offense
I also said I didn't hate him
But nobody can say that pick wasn't a miss though

One thing I've learned.. not many people notice the good things always bad stuff. Ex. us having the worst defense last year.. but that being said. Everyone has a role and he knew his.

Know your role and shut ur mouth.

I wouldn't go that far. Seeing that he was the 27th pick, the only other receiver that was available (if they were planning on going receiver all along) that may have panned out better and that was Sidney Rice. Then again, there is no telling how he would have panned out in a Saints uniform, either.

I'm not 100% certain, but I think he may have been talking about Meachem's role.
