I should be the last person to say anything.......

yes I admit I was wrong we came out and won but didnt pick them to lose just didnt think it would be the kind of win people expected. I have been a mess all morning, some relatives have come in everyone has argued and I simply I have been feeling miserable these last few days. On top of it I have things of the world to worry about. We're living in some crazy times.

On top of it, I will say that my feelings regarding the SP was right. Yes we had some good stalled drives. But remember after SP got hurt and Carmichael dialed in the plays, our offense took off. Payton's playcalling was very iffy before that, he was using Ingram too much. he kept giving Ingram a chance. Payton can get too cute in playcalling. Brees said he wasnt the same last year, he didnt have the time to prepare but he also didnt have his head coach. I think Brees needs a straight and narrow playcaller and SP to still be the coach on the sidelines. Carmichael gave that spark to our O. We did have the 2nd best last year but you could see so many stalled drives and I do believe it had a lot to do with Bountygate. Our team suffered without Payton and with the distractions of the lawsuit.

Hopefully SP will realize that Ingram is a drive killer and that we do not have the system here to suit him. We are better off with complimentary backs. Ingram is not that.

If the Giants or Jets wanted Ingram now id trade for Draft picks and resign Richardson or a NT if Bunkley is going to miss more than a few weeks

Re: I should be the last person to say anything.......

Don't know what it is about Ingram but the guy just can't get it going. It may not be his fault when the play gets blown up before he even gets the ball, but he runs into/trips over his own teammates far to often. I would rather see Robinson carry the ball along with Thomas and Sproles.

This should be Ingrams last year and i'll be glad to see him go.

Re: I should be the last person to say anything.......

Agree, every so often a play gets blown up, but 9 carries for 11 yards? Ingram is starting off where he left off last season.....and that isn't very good. Time for the Saints to move on.

Trade him for some Kool-Aid.

Ingram has this season and that's it. Really getting tired of his 2 yard runs and getting stuffed. Go watch film of Deuce and how he kept his legs moving and twisting his upper body. Look at PT, he does a lot of the same techniques. It's as if he wants to run behind linemen and that's it. Hit the ground.

Slow yall's roll. I am not a fan but at some point this season we are going to need him.

Glad I did not draft him this year.

No sir.... K. Robinson can do just as good if we need another back.

I pumped the brakes last year. Did you see the frustrated body language he has after each and every run? He knows he is running like crap and can't fix it.

Thought SP said draft status didn't matter, BS why is Ingram still stealing carries from the rest of the committee then?

Re: I should be the last person to say anything.......

Ingram should've gotten more carries ... That Colston pic should've never happened we had the ball the lead with just under 7 to play , an elite team could've grinded out the clock like San Fran just did to the Packers ...

I laugh when I hear saints fans ( I'm one too ) that diss ingram ... We wrote bush off as a bust too , today he had more yards than all of our committee combined ...

Ingrams job is to to hit the hole ... I didn't know he was supposed to block for himself as well ... In fact on the last run , he broke 3 straight tackles but still was hit for a loss ...

We need to place blame where it appropriately goes ... I'd trade ingram not because he sucks but because we do when it comes to running the ball ... Kid would be a monster in San Francisco or B More ...

Our defense was great .... Sean Payton I bet has more to say to the offensive line than he has to say to ingram ...

Re: I should be the last person to say anything.......

Leave the criticism to those who actually understand the X's and O's of the game ... The development of the play ... Ingram will be great nothing wrong with his play ... Adrian Peterson wouldn't be able to do a darn thing with the family dollar blocking we do for Ingram

Re: I should be the last person to say anything.......

Sean Payton's playcalling wasn't iffy. Drew Brees' decisions and throws were iffy at times.

As far as Ingram...I've grown tired of him, but the blocking is never there for him. I miss Reggie Bush.

We can't grow tired of him until we block for him ... House rules

I've tried to stick with Ingram but I'm starting to have doubts. My wife was saying he's a bust midway through year one.

The stats below say that his days may be numbered.

I dont see where it matters. We will either have Ingram next year or some other overrated underachieving running back Payton just has to have in the first round instead of picking up a linebacker or defensive player.

Yet we can get it done for PT and Sproles? Thats what I don't get. I am not saying Ingram sucks, he just sucks here. For whatever reason he does not flourish in our offense. Hell Ingram is the kind of back that is supposed to get those yards when the Oline doesnt do their job.

Re: I should be the last person to say anything.......

Again I reintegrate ... Walter Payton himself couldn't do anything with that blocking ... Give him some quality looks then decide . I could understand if there was a wide open hole he just was too slow or lackadaisical to take advantage of , but he literally after handoff is met by 3 or 4 defenders with one foot of space to make anything happen ... As far as I know any wide open hole he's gotten he's turned into 6 100% of the time

Saintaintso 09-08-2013 09:47 PM

He can't take the handoff and block for himself too ..

Running backs are supposed to make holes when there are none from time to time. Pierre and even little Sproles can manage to do it. Some of you guys act like the line should open up and let him through uncontested. It just doesnt work that way. Even Robinson did it in the preseason when Ingram couldn't.

Re: I should be the last person to say anything.......

Settle down ladies, Ingram had a bad game; he'll bounce back...

Trade him after today?!? Seattle, remember Seattle...

Though I do think he has a tell defenses have picked up on and he'll have to fix it...

But there's no question that Pierre Thomas is chairman of the committee...

Just finished film ... The one time he got an open hole 8 yard gain ... Jed Collins doesn't finish his blocks and often times gets in the way ... The offensive line collapses , and when ingram hits the corner DBs are there no receiver or TE blocking at all ...

He slipped once ... We misplaced blame with Reggie not doing it again , give him a seem ...

So its the line, FB, coaching, play calling,...see a trend here? Its everything but Ingram... Every possible excuse but Ingram doesn't have the vision to cut back or find a hole is being thrown out there.

If we were the Jets I might buy it.

PT/Sproles/Ingram all for the same 8-9 carries. Sproles doubled Ingrams yardage and PT quadrupled it. Sproles is NOT a power runner. and Ingram hits more linemans azzes than holes.

Re: I should be the last person to say anything.......

Ingram is a one cut back and our OL has had issues and those issues are only getting worse so he is behind an eight ball here.

trade bait sure but i would not be in a rush. our RB by committee would get pretty weak if we did trade him this year.

The first area i would address is OC in my book. we are ok there but it can be upgraded IMO. same we passed on the talent in the draft because next year aint looking all that deep.

Center or Offensive Coordinator?

I will say that we haven't had the same push in the middle since Goodwin left; and conversely San Fran's run game took off...

Re: I should be the last person to say anything.......

dont feel bad.
I thought the game would be a shootout.
didnt know our O was going to look so sloppy.
didnt know the game would end on a goal line stand.

If I ever claim to be a prognosticator, then hand me some
ex-lax, because I do not even know the definition of prognosticate.

Center lmao fire SP  i would get banned for life for saying or even thinking it. Though i will say this the play calling has gotten pretty vinalla by SP standards since Bush left. i would love to see the reverse option put back in. SP just seemed to have more fun calling plays back then

the saints have been going backwards on the OL talent since the Superbowl. It will catch up to us sooner than later.

Brain is a serviceable center that defense have the book on. he is slow on stunt pick ups. yes he can keep drew from sacks but he is surrendering yardage while doing so. he seems to be a half step to slow to keep the middle of the pocket intact. So with Drew height issue it is a killer

Drew could not step up in the pocket or slide to his right to avoid the pass rush blowing by Brown. That is Drews comfort move from all the years with Bushrod at LT. thats why he is sacked more from the right than the left.

Armstead or Harris need to step up and take over the RT if Zach can not get it back together over there. Brown? god only knows how he will survive as the season wears on. or better yet how will Drew survive.

Either way the coaches need to get make some blocking schemes changes real quick. I think we let one assistance coach go to many.

Ingram is always good for 4-5 addition yards after the play is over. What are you guys talking about? lol

Payton is a good playcaller, but Ingram has been a wrinkle in it of late. It may be true about the lack of blocking, but why would SP continue to run him out there and stall our drives when Thomas was running much better? We turned one ball over on downs in the redzone, and another we had to settle for a fg. I was on the chat and would hear slurring and curse words and it would usually be followed by "3 yard Ingram yay" statements.
