Props to Corey White

Really like seeing some good fundamental tackling - great examples provided courtesy of Corey White...

Thought the guy played great and was glad to see Ryan using the young man...

Personally, think he'd be a better safety than cornerback, but he made some real physical tackles...

Gotta get him on the field...

No doubt. He popped a few people today. I certainly noticed!

He made that stupid preseason game against the Dolphins seem like eons ago.

He gave up the TD pass to Douglas when Robinson went out with the injury, but other than that he looked good...

Douglas didn't catch a touchdown did he? He gave up the TD pass to Julio.... But it was more great playcalling than a White bad decision. He was solid with tackling during the middle portion of the game. I am expecting big things from White.... and so far he is making me look good.

Your right; Jones and Gonzo caught TD passes...

White has just got to get more reps to improve...

With Vaccaro, Harper, and White on the field at the same time; we have some thumpers!

Hate to be a receiver running across the middle

Corey and Vaccaro made some very nice hits yesterday, I think weve struck gold with Vaccaro in the draft, that guys athleticism is great

Really liked what I saw from Mr. White today. He plays the way Jenkins should, but can't because he is always out of position.

Yes he made some impressive hard tackles, I thought he had a good game.

Yeah, White stepped up to double Gonz, which was probably the play, Matt Ryan saw right through it and nailed Julio in the 4 step window before he would have been covered again, it was a really good play by them.

Look they've got some weapons; when that play comes up again, they now know what to expect...

White & Vaccaro look to form a formidable pair when the contracts of the other kids expire at the end of this season...

Really like the youth movement on defense...

Re: Props to Corey White

I have to stick with White as our best CB/S in run support. he is working on those pass coverage skills and developing nicely. Who knows he maybe Harpers replacement on day

He played well and made some great tackles, which is always good to see.

Re: Props to Corey White

The key is a sustained pass rush. If our D-line can keep pressuring QB's our secondary will look like All-Pro DBs. Consider the final play, our D-line pushed Atlanta's O-line back into Ryan's feet, keeping him from stepping into the throw. This forced an early throw before Gonzalez could break open.

Give an average QB enough time and he will look like the second coming of .... Drew Brees, no super star receivers required. This is what we lived with every week last year.

Based on contracts, he will be a Safety replacement if we want to resign Graham...

Always out of position, Jenkins will cost us a game or 2.

White played well, Vacarro, Stills both played well. The fact it was their first NFL start promises a bright future. These guys will get better as the seasons goes on.

Re: Props to Corey White

Well I felt I had to mention Corey White because I really think it's time to closely scrutinize Jenkins and see who the better option will be when it comes time to redo contracts...

I like the fact that our D line is playing hard till the last play. Maybe coach's training is paying off.

Mods, can we merge this thread under the new one...

There's some good discussion already here regarding the emergence of Corey White...

That's what's happened to the NFL, we've become too specialized...

If you get a player that can rush the passer, say 6-8 sacks/season, and can stuff the run, limit carriers to under 3 yds/tote, then he's considered some kind of all-world player; you had guys that could do all this, and better, just fifteen years ago?!?

White could really be special as a Safety/Nickel for the Saints...

Barry, I still say that's a good hit and the problem is with the League Office driven flag football movement...

It's what I've advocated, move Jenkins opposite Lewis; I'd really like those matchups...either way, a backfield of Lewis, Vaccaro, White and Jenkins seems to be your best base package the Saints have...

just joking about Sharper

Re: Props to Corey White

Just for fun - if darren sharper from our 2009 team had our current D line, imagine what sort of damage he could do

He got 10 picks with an aging old D line, 15 could have been possible with our current D line
