I will go out on a limb and say (RE: Tampa Game)

That the Saints will completely obliterate Tampa.

Something in the tune of 34-6 or 34-10

I think Tampa is too dysfunctional and I believe the only contributors to those 10 points will be a couple nice plays to Jackson and a couple good runs on the ground by Doug Martin. This could be giving them too much credit, this is how I see this game playing out.

Agree.
Tampa looked terrible against the Jets

It's a division game, you have to throw everything else out the window. I think we hold them to 17 though...

That Same Tampa team has been destroyed in the past, even last seasons 41-0 or whatever it was shutout, prior to that theirs been games where we almost held them scoreless in the Gregg Williams era.

Tampa is one team I think we can bury 6 feet under.

true, but has Tampa really improved?

this is one team that has looked pretty much the same if not getting worse over about the past 4 years.

Still I don't see us holding them to 6 or 10...

I wonder if Tampa thought the same thing of us when we beat them at theirs last season? I also wonder if they had a touch of confidence coming to the SuperDome before they were smashed off of the park.

Point being, this is a divisional game. I fully expect to win and I think holding Tampa to 17 or less points is achievable but I am not sure I would be thinking about a huge whitewash just yet.

If Payton pulls the starters at halftime, or breaks his leg, we will be in trouble.

Re: I will go out on a limb and say (RE: Tampa Game)

Tampa's players have already quit on Schiano. That's what happens when an unsuccessful college coach comes to the NFL and demands things his way without ever proving himself. Tampa will score a TD or two, but they're doomed.

Trap game this week.
And next week.
Oh, and the next week.
We could be favored in Chicago as well.

Would you like some good memories instead?

In games against Tampa since 2009 in which we haven't rested our starters or Payton hasn't broken his leg, the Saints have outscored Tampa Bay 172-54.

This. Home game for a 0-1 dysfunctional DIVISION team. We always blow out dysfunctional, vastly underdog DIVISION teams with this good of a Saints team?

2012: swept TB; we go 7-9
2011: split series but we go 13-3
2010: split series but we go 11-5
2009: split series but we go 13-3 plus that Super Bowl thing.
2008: split series; we go 8-8
2007: swept by TB, we go 7-9
2006: swept TB, we go 10-6 plus NFC Champ game

Different coaches, coordinators, personnel on both sides for 7 years...I get it. But I also get the fact it's a division game against an inferior team. We split with TB this year; count it. And betting Special Teams the reason we blow the one we lose.

As Mitch stated in another thread, we are around the 500 mark in the Payton era against Tampa. I think we have won one more game than them. I dont get why everyone is so quick to dismiss them and say its going to be a blowout. They tend to play us tough, as all division rivals do.
I think we will beat them, but not as handily as some here might think.

Maybe my least favorite game of the year - EVERY year. I hate when we play there. And I'm with many of you. I don't think it's a gimmie game or anything remotely close.

We are thinking the same. I was at the Tampa game when Payton got hurt. That game stays in my head. They play us tough at home and literally run the ball down our throats. Meanwhile, TB looked bad, real bad last week. This is not to say we lose, only a tough division game that is really becoming a rival.

They didn't have Carl Nicks to run Doug Martin behind last week...

Tampa is a Soup sandwich this season. Schiano is pulling that team apart. The players think the captain vote was rigged and had a "players only" meeting before the first game of the season.

What is so drastically broken that a team has to have a team ONLY meeting before the season even starts. Its unheard of in the NFL.

tampa's going to throw the bus at as, don't mean shjt though, its a coaches last ditch effort to save his job. my prediction. he will be first fired this year, possibly by 6th game.

Giants players did the year before they won the superbowl.

Let's not forget its a talented team. Doug Martin is the new Stephen Jackson. They have two EXTREMELY talented receivers. Josh Freeman isn't a slouch. I think coaching has been the problem with him more then anything. I think Schiano is a ****ty coach.

Then their secondary is completely rebuilt and scary. Revis, Barron, and Goldson is ridiculous.

Although I think we'll blow them out, we still can't count them out. Especially with them being at home. We need to take advantage of games like this and this stretch of our schedule.

Prove it. Link?

Only Giants 'team only meetings" that have been held and are referenced on the internet are Dec 2006 and Nov 2012.. I do not recall week 1 of the NFL starting in those months?

Unless you are talking about the baseball team.

After coming off of a 2012 season with sub par coaching, your going to declare the Bucs a good team with sub par coaching? Remember how much talent we had last year?

I am not saying count them out... Just saying when the coach is causing issues... crap rolls down hill.

We had sub par coaching. They have horrible coaching. That team should be much better then it is. They're built like the Falcons but with better defense and no Gonzalez. Vincent Jackson and Mike Williams are one hell of a combo.

They are in disarray. Rumors abound about Shiano fixing the team captain voting, Freeman isn't one this year, he wants to play on the street instead of the field, heard bits and pieces about it on Sirius NFL channel. We will destroy them.

Apparently Josh Freeman didn't even show up for the team photo. It doesn't matter who they have on the roster if their QB doesn't care anymore.

Re: I will go out on a limb and say (RE: Tampa Game)

Very sad state of affairs when a team and coach can not find a way to get the starting QB to lead. When you have to strip him of the C you are either trying to send a message because he refuses to listen to other methods, or given up.

Srgt. Hulka 09-12-2013 03:50 PM

Re: I will go out on a limb and say (RE: Tampa Game)

Cautiosly optimistic.

These guys (Tampa Bay) may just come out with the mindset of absolutly nothing to lose. To them, this may be their superbowl this year. I can see several fines being levied from this game.

I hope I'm wrong.
