Week 3 Saints vs Cardinals

The TB win was so ugly I m ready to move on to Arizona.

Are we going to have to bring Shanle back to fill a defense?

Oh BTW it will be the battle of the 2-0s. Only six teams remain unbeaten.

As much as I would love to get on to Miami on Monday Night, I am hoping we do what the schedule says and Welcome the Arizona Cardinals to the dome...... cause I have tickets!!!! LOL

Arizona could be our toughest contest yet. Palmer seems to have resurected his career and Fitzgerald is scary. We will have to bring our A game.

You don't think these last two were tough enough? If AZ's game is tougher than the last two have been, it could seriously damage my health.

I'm not so sure. I got an early ~vibe~ on this one.

"Saints win going away!" Proclaims Saintfan

In an unusually bold way,and certainly uncharacteristic of his otherwise stoic behavior, Saintfan appeared rather confident in the Saints and their chances in next week's game against Arizona.

"Eff them!", he said. "The Saints win this game game going away. I guarantee it..."

He went on to elaborate, mostly in a sort of rambling way, about his reasoning, but nobody was terribly interested.

Still, it would appear the Saints are the early favorite. Take THAT Las Vegas!

Actually from what I heard, our A game was found wandering around Bourbon Street singing and fighting with a lamp-post. He'll be ok for the next game though.

A beatable team for us, but they ain't no pushover like they used to be.

Get in Palmer's face though and he will fold. I think we can hold them to 12-15 points but we need to get that offense in gear.

The Cards weapons.

Fitzgerald ~ Having hamstring issues, wasn't 80% last night. Sat out last Qtr, reoccurring hammy issues do not go away in a week.

Palmer ~ No where as good with out Fitz.

Mendenhall ~ is dangerous
http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/09/16/a9a8upan.jpg

Arizona Defense ~ Has 1 sack and had 1 INT this season.

Those that were confused about me post last week concerning matchups, fantasy football, and gaining insight into Saints games...

A hurt Fitzgerald is still gonna' play and get a score ... they brought up some kid off their practice squad that looks good and they're playing their big CB (Peterson) as a WR on offense as well ... you're right on Palmer, he looked cool & composed in the pocket as he's ever been. This game could be trouble,.

Re: Week 3 Saints vs Cardinals

Alright now ladies... Every team we play has weapons.. yes, each and every one. I hardly see that Arizona has more weapons than Atlanta, so I don't see how it could be our toughest game yet based on their personnel. If you want to try and say our injuries are piling up which would make this one of our tougher games, I would buy that...

Fitz had 33 yards last night and no TDs.

That pick six was just incomprehensible. Watched it several times now - it's almost as if Brees thought Mason Foster was wearing a Saints jersey. Truly bizarre and very un-Brees-like.

Well we got a bigtime mulligan in Tampa. Hopefully we will crush Arizona as revenge for 2010. We have the 10th ranked defense now, btw.

I think it's possible that someone (either Graham or Pierre) may have run the wrong route and been in the totally wrong place. They showed a shot of Brees on the bench immediately afterward, talking to Payton, and he was making hand gestures with his hands, like cuts and shapes of routes, trying to tell Payton what happened, and he was really angry about something. Graham was going deep with his back turned, Pierre runs to the middle of the field and claps his hands ("I'm open!") but then Brees throws it to a spot where NO ONE is, that is almost precisely between the two of them. You're right, it's bizarre.

Then Pierre gets blindsided, plowed into and gets his clock cleaned while chasing after the runback of the interception, it's painful to watch. Ugh.

Do not allow explosive returns by Arizona's return team and I think we win this game by double digits. If Arizona is in this game, their special teams will have been a big part of it.

The next four games until the bye week are all going to be tough. But you have to play the best along the way to be the best. Crossing my fingers, I am hoping we can escape to be 6 and Eaux!

Honestly I do not see the Cards, Dolphins, Bears, or Pats as better than the Falcons.. The Falcons just have more offensive weapons. I see playing the Bears in Chicago as probably the tougher of the 4.

The Atlanta/Miami game this week will tell a lot about the Dolphins.
Arizona is squeaking by and Fiz is hurt

Chicago is squeaking by also having won two games by less than 3

By the time we get the Pat's they will have been hammered by Atlanta and Tampa bay...

Dolphins are the only team that are 1TD+ net on the season.

If we can shut down the Run game of the Cards... I don't think Palmer can beat us... he will throw sum Ints if you give him time.... But ugh I guess I can't say nothin ... Brees... *cough* *cough*... ha But N the dome we should take care of business... Who Dat !

Re: Week 3 Saints vs Cardinals

The thing we have been doing really well through two games is getting pressure up top. We haven't necessarily looked like sack monsters but we are right up in the QB's face. Jordan and Hicks, for me, have been superb. That has made throwing into our secondary a much tougher feat. Jenkins and Harper look rejuvenated and Vaccaro is playing like a 1st round draft pick!

If our offence can get any semblance of a game going, especially if we get the run game going (probably through someone who is not Mark Ingram) then there is a very real chance that we could do some double digit damage in this one. Ball security is the key. No errant passes to Patrick Peterson!

Saints finally get rolling. 31-17.

Re: Week 3 Saints vs Cardinals

They will be tough and are much better balanced offensively with Mendenhall. Their D is not too bad either, but Brees is due for a good game and I'm sure he's pissed about giving Tampa 14 points of his two INTs. It will be nice to be back in the dome after two really tough conference wins.

The falcons had a closer win than people think against the rams. Two big plays that could have been prevented......a tipped pass that was picked off by Umenyiora(it still bugs me they got him) and a breakaway TD from Jones with a ram in striking distance. This shows the rams have issues still, they can't stop the big play. The rams could have won that game. The bucs lost to the jets the previous week but jets have a good defense, but still bucs could have outdid that jets offense.

The cards are not better but they will not take chances. They kicked six field goals against the lions, they have trick plays using Peterson as a corner, receiver, and quarterback. This will be our biggest matchup yet if the offense doesnt turn around.

I wonder if we will try to get Carr back since P Rob may be done for the season. Did anyone sign him? It seemed like he did pretty well in preseason.

Home field advantage should be enough to offset any perceived advantage Arizona brings, but yeah, the offense has to get going ....

Watching NFL Network

(Jay Feely) on Fitzgerald's hamstring... "You are not going to get me to go there, but 1/2 a Fitzgerald is better than a full Wide Receiver".

Re: Week 3 Saints vs Cardinals

Not very much support for Saints special teams. Hartley was 3 for 3 against Atlanta and 3 of 4 against the Bucs (outdoors and swirling wind). When he misses one, some want his FOOT on a platter. On the other hand, when special teams and Hartley wins one with a FG on the last play...minor (at best) applause.

It doesn't go unnoticed that Brees, Graham, Sproles, and Colston got the field position, but so many things could have gone wrong (as in the past) with that final FG.
