Saints QB Drew Brees tells NFL: Don’t forget about me

While Aaron Rodgers and Peyton Manning are throwing the ball all over the field, New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees told the NFL world this evening that pundits should not forget about him and his team moving forward in post-season discussions.

Brees threw for 413 yards against the Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football, his 10th 400-yard game. He is right behind Dan Marino (13) for the most career 400-yard games. Brees tied his own record, throwing for 300 yards for the ninth consecutive contest while increasing his record on MNF to 9-0 in his last nine appearances in prime time. Brees completed nearly 77% of his passes for 413 yards and four scores Monday night.

Brees threw four touchdowns for the 21st time in his career. He is just three games behind Peyton Manning for the most four touchdown games in his career. Might be tough to catch up with Manning on the pace he’s on this season.

New Orleans looked like a well oiled machine right from the start of the game. The upstart Miami Dolphins, although they played well in the first half, showed their flaws down the stretch and illustrated that they have more work to do in order to become an elite football team.

New Orleans is playing electric football right now. While playing without their head coach last season, the Saints floundered in what became a lost season. The Saints are playing football once again like they did during their Super Bowl season with an aggressive, opportunistic defense under the guidance of Rob Ryan and pinpoint passing from Brees.

The Saints now have a two game lead over the Carolina Panthers and a three and a half game lead over the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC South this season.

New Orleans will now see three of their last four games being played on the road while sandwiching in a bye week in week 7.

The Saints have staked their claim on the NFC South division title after just the first quarter of the regular season. With a two game lead in the division, and with the way they are playing, the Saints might just be poised for post-season play in 2013.

Boy every writer and pundit wants to slob on the knob after a nationally televised game. I wanna fly low low like the Chiefs are. Not because of old Saints VooDoo, because I wanna strike when these na sayers least expect us.

Im tired of the same old Katrina/Brees could of went to the Dolphins BS. We are who we are, please doubt us and get demoralized!

I thought Miami was right there with us until we threw Sprolesie at 'em...

They had no answer and he just opened up the rest of the offense...
