Hey 08...

I'll be in Charlotte next week. I figure the Panthers are playin' like poo so I might be able to kick you up some Delhomme souveniers on the cheap. Still lookin' for that jersey? LOL

:poke:

Hey 08...

Not that I was ever on the Delhomme bandwagon but...

Quote:

We hear the Panthers’ coaching staff has been impressed with the leadership of QB Jake Delhomme, who is demanding that the blame fall on him and not his teammates for the team’s up-and-down start.

Wow, so that\'s what leadership looks like...

LMAO... you mean he doesn\'t need to \"reevaluate his situation\" in Carolina.

Bad O-line, injured RBs, injured WRs... I guess those are only excuses for AB. LOL :)

Hey 08...

Some of you were warned last year that Jake\'s success was very much related to a solid defense and run game. Some of you (not saying you necessarilly) just wouldn\'t hear it, giving Jake all the credit in the world for having this thing called \"it\". Some of us, namely me, suggested that the Panthers were incredibly LUCKY. Jake is still throwing the ball up for grabs, just like last year, only this year he\'s getting intercepted a bit more. Wonder why? LMAO

He\'s got \"it\" alright, and \"it\" is a 1-3 record. ;)

To hear some of the veteran moonshiners tell it, these are not excuses for AB...but we\'ll go ahead and blame HIM for poor blocking, dropped passes and fumbles by the RB for heaven\'s sake.

No, these are only excuses for Mr. \"IT\" with the 1-3 record. ;)

Hey 08...

There\'s that luck argument again. I think that one is my favorite. Jim Haslett must be the unluckiest coach in the history of the game then. Cancer after cancer, they practice well all week and then they get to the game and everything goes wrong and he just doesn\'t get it. Awwww. :(

Look SF, I\'m not quite dumb enough to suggest that a SB season doesn\'t include getting lucky. No question. But I have a real hard time when you suggest that AB is being held down by the rest of the team. If the O-line is so porous, how did Deuce go for 1,600 last season?

Point is, I\'m not blaming AB for this team\'s troubles. But he also shouldn\'t get immunity. His WRs drop passes. His line misses blocks. Every QB in the league deals with that. But you seem to want to ignore the times when AB steps up in the pocket, has a man downfield two steps behind his defender, and AB lofts a duck that isn\'t anywhere near the WR, or throws a rocket shot 10 yards over his head.

You keep talking about the line, WRs, TEs, RBs... I just don\'t know how you can realistically make that argument. Play calling - OK. I\'ll give you that. But other than the Colts, name another team with this much talent surrounding their QB. Who else has a Pro Bowl RB, Pro Bowl WR, hugely talented up-and-coming WR across from the PB WR, a third WR that could start most places, a veteran and former PB TE and a talented young TE who played WR in college? I\'m not suggesting that there aren\'t instances where this team fails Brooks, I just have a problem with you suggesting AB doesn\'t fail them just as often.

Seems to me that when Jake had a Pro Bowl RB behind him, Pro Bowl WR and a couple of other real good ones to throw to, he made it to the Super Bowl. ;)
