PFF 1st quarter O-line grades

13. New Orleans Saints: +3.5
Stud: You rarely notice Zach Strief (+9.1) , who is the model of consistency in pass protection with just a sack, hit and five hurries allowed on the year.

Dud: The right guard spot has been troubling. It was worse when Tim Lelito had to stand in, but it has to be worrying how much Jahri Evans (-4.9) has struggled.

Summary: A line that just keeps getting the job done. They haven’t been let down by Ben Grubbs since he joined, and Brian De La Puente has been a very nice find. Would be higher but for the massive downgrade Lelito earned in his start.

A little surprised they didn't mention the poor run blocking.
Glad to see Strief studding out. I'm proud of him. Apparently he's not garbage.

Re: PFF 1st quarter O-line grades

Yeah, I've never gotten the criticism for Strief. He's always gotten the job done.

Call me crazy but I think the o-line is playing better. They made some nice holes for PT against the Bears. That was offset by some negative plays and that minus-6 yarder was especially a killer BUT there was generally much more room to run than there has been.

Very proud of Charles Brown and Zack Strief... They've been fantastic! It's very strange to see the interior of the O-Line struggling a bit; makes me wonder if we'll re-sign DLP to a long-term contract after this season.

Evans getting 100% will solve 90% of the interior's problems. But acquiring a stud OC wouldn't hurt my feelings a bit.

Wow........Strief is our best O-lineman? Last season I would have never seen that coming........this season either as a matter of fact.

Naw he's garbage according to many. His improvement will just be ignored and swept under the rug. He needs to be replaced immediately before Drew gets killed.

Yeah I know. Just because he could barely walk is no excuse to have trouble blocking 270 DEs who can run faster than 75% of the population.

With NE missing their nose tackle I am hoping we can get a rush going. I would love to see just 25-30 yards more per game.

My students would love to take your class, Hagan, if you were that lenient.
